I've been looking forward to this gen 3 SCCY. If it's as good as the other examples I've owned and/or shot. It should be a great CCW. They are an extremely well made $200-$250 gun.
@UncleDanBand642 жыл бұрын
It looks better and adding the ability to put a light on it is always good. In my opinion all guns should take a light. If they don't they should be modded to take one. If they can't be modded to take a light they should be replaced with something that takes a light. I got to go now. I am going to duct tape a light on my Peacemaker😂
@marksd56502 жыл бұрын
I completely disagree. I have never had a light on my handguns and in the service we were taught to shoot at the light if it was dark and the target was unclear.
@UncleDanBand642 жыл бұрын
@@marksd5650 Well, that is fine. I prefer the ability to hit what I am shooting at in the dark. For some that might not be important.

Looking to get this gun for my grandma, she’s new too shooting, she has a Ruger LCP 2 in .380, she needs something bigger, think this will work?
@Tythebull Жыл бұрын
Absolutely not . I have one decent gun. However it is a very long and heavy trigger pull. 9lbs is alot.
@markedman3990 Жыл бұрын
How old/frail is your grandma? The CPX3 380 is much easier to shoot than the LCP 2 or the SCCY 9mm. It's probably the best gun SCCY makes. IMO
@blueberryog69 Жыл бұрын
@@markedman3990she isn’t that frail, she’s 69, she’s got some life left in her for sure lol. She’s not skinny and fragile. Since this comment she’s gotten a Glock 43x in 9mm and has shot it just fine.
@blueberryog69 Жыл бұрын
@@markedman3990 my 19 was too big for her but the 43x is just perfect for her hands. I also put on some tru glo trithium pro night sights on for her as well and she really likes it, just need to take her out to shoot more. Especially with the days we’re living in now.

@@blueberryog69 glad to hear that. The 43x is a great gun! I wish her safe shooting.

@mdubb48559 ай бұрын
G3 is a range gun that needs a holster or trigger guard cover for any type of safety since it has a light, short pull trigger. The SCCY is double action only for much greater safety (but still please use Sticky Holster etc for pocket carry). The SCCY will hit center of mass at 7yards every time but unless you work on the double action training it’s hard to punch paper in tight groups.

I was at a GS this past weekend and tried one of these, it just said it was a CPX2 no idea what Gen, but seemed every dealer there was selling CPX2 SCCY's -- Anyway it was absolutely the worse feeling grip I've ever felt on a handgun, it honestly felt like I was gripping a 2x4 -- judging by what you show here, it had to be an older gen with the fake air cushion thing as the Gen3 looks like a normal grip. As a side note, No One had the elusive DVG and it was a fairly large show, nor have I seen any online dealers selling them, not that I want one, but I've been curious enough to want to check them out. So, instead, I ended getting a Taurus GX4 for $349 out the door, much better handgun IMO.

It looks like a cheap plastic gun. I don’t understand the desire to own such a gun when there are metal hammer-fired guns that hold 12 rounds and conceal very well.

Unfortunately I think you are right. I just bought the SCCY CPX-2 gen 3, thinking the rail would be nice, which is useless and I wish it had the finger swells like like the previous version. And like you said the older version looks better. Oh well.
