The most important thing in my mind is it’s reliability-I have trusted my very life to this platform(G19 and 26) for 28 years-first as an issued weapon in the military(SFCDU) and now the SP in my state.Over 500,000 rounds fired total and I never once have had a malfunction that was contributed to the weapon. Some of the magazines while loaded for long periods would fail to lock open on the last round, but never a failure-saltwater,sand,mud,dirt,etc-never.

Right now I have a Taurus model 85 .38 special revolver, and it is my very first handgun. I bought it because I only had $300 to spend and I do like revolvers, and I wanted a very small CCW gun, and it was on sale for 269$ at a local gun store. Although I like revolvers, if I would have had a bigger budget I would have definitely got a 9mm Glock, but at that time I hadn’t done much research so I had no idea about what model I wanted. Today that’s a different story, one of the many reasons I watched your video, and loved it by the way and will be subscribing, is because I’ve had my eye on the Glock 26 for a good amount of months now. The reasons I want the model 26 are pretty simple, I want the smallest concealed carry Glock 9mm without giving up the adaptability to use different mags and backstraps etc. Not to mention it’s small and it can still has a good amount of ammo in the stock clip. The Glock 43 is what most want for CCW and swear by. I don’t like the shorter ammo amount of the stock clip and especially don’t like that you lose all your adaptability when you have a 43, and the only difference size wise from my research is just like you said in your video, is the same length pretty much but it a thicker gun, which I don’t mind at all, and feel more comfortable with a thicker frame, as it seems to be stronger of a frame than the 43, but that’s just my opinion going by the looks. Anyway loved your video, can’t wait to see more and would love to know your thoughts on the Glock 26 for my second gun to have for a CCW, and first automatic I’ll own, and second handgun I’ll own, and by the way, I have small to medium hands with skinny fingers, so I think it’ll handle great. Loved the video, let me know your thoughts if you can. And sorry, where are my manners, my name is James Kenley Chastain, but I go by my middle name Kenley, but you can call me James or Kenley.

I have ordered and received 2 magazines with +2 extensions and will be testing them shortly and will be interested to see if I find a difference in accuracy. It is definitely a winner! Another great review video Sootch. I am glad that Glock finally came out with the Gen 5 and having an ambi slide release. I am a left handed/left eye dominate (right handed for everything else) shooter and find that helpful and one of the reasons why I bought a Smith & Wesson M&P Pro C.O.R.E in .40 cal instead of the Glock was for the ambi features and it's made in the U.S.A. I am thinking of getting a concealed carry and the M&P Shield, G26 Glock and SA XD9 among a few others are options. So this Gen 5 will help in that regard. I also hope that the Gen 5s are available in more than 9mm as stated about the 2 pin design, because I would absolutely LOVE to get a Glock Model 40 M.O.S. Long Slide 10MM in the Gen 5 for a badass range gun, hunting semi handgun and bear country open carry protection piece (yes I know that a 44 mag and up revolver would be better, but they are heavy for just a protection piece, even though I do want one for hunting bear, boar, etc in the future). God Bless America and Long Live the Republic!

sootch00 This great video of yours has led to my comment : The G26 G5 is top of it's class as a CCW in the 10round + Category And that makes it a serious competitor in the 12 and 13round Category due to extended base plates And a serious 15round category competitor due to Glocks interchangeable magazines most especially 15round G19 backup mags for the G26 Glock adding the marksman barrel to the G26 G5 and removing the finger grooves has made the G26 a serious competitor against the Beretta PX4 Storm Compact 9mm and The Beretta PX4 Storm Compact Carry 9mm The G26 G5 being an extremely flat shooter is a true CCW And with it's marksman barrel one can feel comfortable shooting 124gr 9mm GDHP +P for self defense The new improved rifling is another serious factor that has elevated the G26 G5 Thereafter for CCW deep concealment - It's all Kahr ! JAH BLESS TRUMP 2020 # # # And I now recommend the G26 G5 as a Prime CCW that conceals very well ! And I am even contemplating making the G26 G5 my CCW # # # EXCELLENT VIDEO sootch00 ! ! !

My first experience with Glocks was 2001, 2002. A model 32(357 sig) & a 19, both with Clinton mags that didn't work. They've been "damned Ole Glocks" ever since. But like that stray dog that wanders up & keeps coming back they wind up growing on ya. My default backup in training classes is my 19(now with 15 round mags that work) & it just keeps finding its way on my nightstand too. Guess it found a home. Truth is, for me, if I do most of my practice with a Glock I can pick up pretty much anything else & it'll perform fine. Can't say that about any other gun.

If you are thinking about getting a 26 go ahead and get one. I've had mine for 3 months and put about 600 rounds through it just fine. I'm coming from a xds 45 and shield 45, and the extra thickness is actually a good thing for me. Love this gun

I love my gen 4 26. What a wonderful weapon for daily carry. I have added +2 mag plates. I can use all the bigger Glock 9mm magazines plus 32 round Glock mags. I carry a G17 mag as a backup. My other gun is a Glock too.

I've had a g26 for about 16yrs now. In the summer months, I carry with the standard mag, in the winter months - I carry it with a 15rnd mag with a Xgrip sleeve. As I type this, it is next to my computer with a 12rnd mag in it. Glock Perfection

I'm looking forward to get a Gen 5 26 and this video have helped me a lot. Call my attention the flat trigger, the smaller grip, the barrel and there is only 2 pins. Looks ok to me but I will love to tried it. Thank you for the video.

One way to over come the short the short grip, Hickok45 recommends carrying reload mags that are 12 or 15 rounds. Makes sense since now your concealed pistol is no longer a surprise.

I've owned most of the Glock Pistols in Gen 3, a couple in Gen 2...None in Gen 4, but now I own 3 Gen 5 that I am 100% happy with them. From being a 1911 man then changes...um uh, on the most part. I have used them on tactical courses and love the Glocks. :)

Picked up one like new used with night sights and mag extensions. Love the factory plus 2 also. Since I have a 34, 17, 19 the 26 was just needed. Have a 43 but liking the 26 more. $375 out the door rocked! All paperwork still sealed. Great video!

The only Glock I have ever shot was the 30S that I rented. It’s sights were way off but after I compensated for them I was very Impressed with its operation. I’m a 45 fanboy, however, I did buy a Taurus PT111 G2 after hearing how happy people were with them. I can also say mine has been perfect in its operation since day one. And it was very inexpensive to buy. Mine came with the lifetime warranty which I hear they have re-instated. Smart move Taurus.

I am in the same situation, I shot thousands of rounds thru glock. I am so comfortable with the pistol I don’t want to change. It’s like old guys still carrying 1911.

Bought an ankle holster for the 26 for "carry" protection while I'm out working here on our farm. Now all I need is the gun ! Never know what sort of crazy will come out of the woods. I have a Taurus pistol but it's far too large and heavy for practical carry. Great, simple gun, though.

I wish they did all the changes, except left it 3 pin, and left the 1 sided slide stop. I like the improved finish, barrel, and removal of grooves.

@sootch00 has done justice to a fine handgun. I carry the Gen 5 in a Tulster Contour OWB at 3:00. When I got mine, I took it out of the box, field stripped, inspected, dropped a couple drops of oil, reassembled, went to the range, and have been there several times. This handgun just works. It's a defensive handgun. You need it to work when that situation arises, and this gun will. Take yours to the range, verify POA/POI and work from there. I keep mine stock, as CC handguns should be in my opinion. My 3rd Glock. They just work. Nuff said. @sootch00, you do good work. Appreciate Ya.

Tenifer and Nitride are not finishes, they're metal treatments that can't be "seen" but are embedded in the metal surface itself. The black coating on the outside of the pistol is neither. That's essentially just "paint."

I purchased a G26 gen 5 with Ameriglo sights. The rear sight was way off to the right. Had to take it to the shop to have it adjusted. Not a big deal, but come on Glock.
