Gen 6 2018-2024 Honda Goldwing fuel Pump recall. Also troubleshooting a cruise control that recently stopped working. Also reaching out to a local shop to find a competent Goldwing technician.

From my dealer this morning, " We will receive the fuel pump kit in the next week or two. These parts have become available and they are getting them to dealers as fast as they can."

In the USA recall notice I received and confirmed at my dealer, 2018 -2020 Goldwing years were the only ones included. The 2021-2024 were not included. My 2023 was not part of the recall even though my dealer checked regardless. Good Rides

Cruiseman posted two videos on the fuel cell safety recall. One of them actually detailed the affected year(s). It’s my understanding, according to Cruiseman’s videos, the notices won’t go out to customers until April. Sufficient parts are not yet available. Just watched the cruise man garage videos. I was sent to a details by the dealership on a propeller in the fuel pumps that’s the actual cause of failure. Well wishes to you and family also RG.

Check the Honda Dealer in Melbourne FL. Last I looked on line they had 6 or 6 24's an a few 23's. Mt local Powersports Dealer took my order for the recall fuel pump rebuild. Parts are obviously in back order. Other Honda cars also have the same fuel pumps as do the CamAm's. 😅heard other brands also have the same fuel pumps. Check Cruiseman's videos on how to check your bike fuel pump numbers. Honda said truly will send notice in writing in April so not sure if anyone has actually reviewed written notice. I reacted based on Cruiseman's alert and wanted in the queue as many if not all are waiting dealers to recieve 2.8 million Honda cars and motorcycles to be checked and repaired. My 19 qualified based on fuel pump production code.

Quick update on my 2019 UK Goldwing Tour fuel pump failure. My bike is fixed and ready to be picked up tomorrow, 2 May 2024. Fuel pump was confirmed as faulty after having a fuel pressure test carried out. Fuel pump has been replaced under their Honda extended Warranty scheme. Honda UK have only issued a recall for fuel pumps on 2020 - 2024 bikes, so my bike would NOT have been included in the recall. Maybe Honda UK are going to release a recall bulletin for 2018 - 2019 bikes too? Will update further once I have the bike back. Ride safe. 👍🏻

Big Fan I have been a long time Goldwing owner I am very disappointed with Honda, and the fuel pump issue and , the bolt which goes into the transmission and locks up the motor, which has broken on several Goldwings The local dealers around me are done with you once you buy the new wing I have left Honda and have traded in my 2022 DCT It came down to safety and Hondas lack of clarity about their flagship bike

UK update on the fuel pump issue. I spoke to the Honda dealer today who is repairing my 2020 registered Goldwing. He informed me that my bike is a 2019 bike and the UK fuel pump recall (announced this week, late April 2024) does NOT cover my bike. The UK recall is for 2020-2024 Goldwings and NOT 2018-2019. I find this strange as the USA recall covers 2018-2024. My dealer also mentioned that the part number of the faulty fuel pump on my bike is also NOT one of the part numbers listed in the recall. This would suggest that there are fuel pumps fitted to 2018/2019 bikes that are not covered under the UK recall, but are also prone to failure as mine has done. Might I suggest this is slightly concerning? “Luckily”, my bike is under the Honda extended warranty, so the fuel pump replacement is covered and should be back on the road next week when a new pump arrives from Belgium, apparently. Hope this helps someone else in the meantime AND prompts a few questions for Honda UK to answer?

Wow! This is very interesting information. With your permission i would like to do a video referencing this. The possibility of pumps that aren’t on the recall is interesting. I also have an extended warranty till 2027 but Honda not covering this in the UK isn’t acceptable. Up to this point I haven’t heard of anyone personally that had suffered this failure. I just received my letter on Friday. My local dealership was supposed to take care of the problem but I chose not to use them when they would not explain how long they would have my bike. I’ll be doing a video on that. Thank you so much for sharing this info.

@richthereturnrider6737 No probs. The dealership is closed until Tuesday. I will speak to them next week when hopefully my bike will be ready. I wonder if Honda UK are just slow at bringing out the recall on 2018-2019 bikes. I will keep an eye on events and keep you updated. It must surely make potential buyers very wary now of buying "older" Goldwing Tourers (18/19) and I am guessing will hit the 2nd hand market once word gets out? Kind regards and ride safe. 👍🏻

UK here. Just had my 2020 DCT fuel pump fail. Bike has 5000 miles (8k kms) on the clock. Poor and no starting symptoms. Good luck.

My local shop wanted me to leave my bike there for about 7 days but it was right before Daytona bike week so I didn’t. Also couldn’t talk to who was working on the bike so will be taking it to another shop. Thanks for the update. They were very vague with the inf they were giving me from the desk. @@markfowler5577 yeah. My biggest concern isn’t the fuel pump but now it’s the new thing about a nut or bolt backing out of the engine or transmission to lock up the engine. That’s a bigger problem if it’s true. If it is, will Honda take care of it as a recall?

Ritch my name is Danny white and I had problem with my cruise control, I notice if I push my clutch lever forward my cruise control would engage properly. I watched several videos and I also saw what you were talking about. Give it a try and see if it will work for you it work on my 2018 GW.

2nd May 2024. UK 2019 (2020 reg) Goldwing DCT Tour with Full Honda Service History and 5000 miles (8000 kms) on the clock, CONFIRMED fuel pump failure. The excellent Honda Tech, Ian at CJ Balls of Norwich, UK diagnosed and fixed the fault. All professionally handled by Lewis on the “desk”. I have been told the fuel pump is NOT included in any current fuel pump recall in the UK due to the bike being a 2019 model. The Goldwing fuel pump recall in the UK at the moment is for 2020-2024 Goldwings only. The pump failure was confirmed with a Goldwing fuel pressure tester, of which there are only a few (maybe only one?) in the UK. The pump price is £800 ($1000 USD) and involves 1 hour of labour to replace, plus any extra time to diagnose the fault. Once dealers learn to recognise the fault, then the amount of time to diagnose the fault should come down. However, regardless of the time to diagnose the fault, this repair is very likely to cost at least £1000 ($1250 USD) in the UK on 2018-2019 Goldwings, unless Honda UK bring out a recall for 2018-2019 bikes, as they have for the USA. Luckily, my Goldwing is covered under a Honda extended warranty, so this repair was of no cost to me. However, this might be something very worth while thinking about for anyone thinking of buying a 2nd hand 2018-2019 manufactured year Goldwing. That’s the end of my fuel pump failure updates and I hope this helps someone else in the future. Ride safe.
