In my most recent playthrough of pokèmon Sword, it wasn’t Cinderace (the starter I chose) that got overleveled. It was a Togepi I obtained from a max raid battle. Scorbunny was level 12 at the time, and Togepi was level 18. Another thing about the Togepi is that I evolved that Togepi into a Togetic and then into Togekiss… all before the battle with Kabu. Togekiss dominated the rest of the early game lmao

Gen 2 inspired me to become a Dark-type specialist due to a freak series of occurrences on an early, poorly-translated (as in, most of it was gibberish and random characters, but some parts were sorta translated, a bit... I still needed a walk-through to understand what was going on) Gold Version ROM, but when the international releases dropped, Karen was the one who cemented that decision. Well, her, plus my _second_ shiny gift Eevee (that I had to SR for 😅🤣, I was _adamant_ that I just _had_ to have a shiny Umbreon in every game after the first Eevee from Bill taught me the existence of both shinies and Dark-types before I had a chance to see either in the wild or on a team)... and just how awesome Dark-types are, in general. Umbreon's _still_ my favorite Pokémon, more than 20 years later.

gamefreak is extremely inconsistent with how the heights are counted (eg Rayquaza). So no, noone is wrong in this case. You can basically measure them however you want, as long as somehow it matches the numbers.

Only serpentine Pokemon are measured head to tail, and Furret lacks a serpentine body type. Considering in the anime its shown as small you're probably right that it is measured head to tail, because that makes more sense, but game freak has never confirmed that, and Imaging furret as larger than typhlosion and most human people is funny to me.

@@ElFreakinCid I thought Swampert was Quadrupedal for the most part with Marshtomp being the bipedal mid-stage. Also most people have problems with Emboar just for it randomly being the 3rd consecutive Fire/Fighting Starter without good enough reason to justify it. Blaziken was the 1st Time & was based on real world rooster fighting, while Infernape was based on the Monkey King Son Goku (he goes by other names as well) who was known for martial arts. Typhlosion really does deserve to be called out yet doesn't because Gen 2ers worship that ugly fire rat. The further you go back the more accepting people are of Bipedal starters with more modern gens getting most of the hate for it like you said. I have nothing against Sprigatito eventually being bipedal & at this point I almost hope it does just to infuriate the people against it so much.

Funnily enough, there were some small predictions from that fake leak at 22:19 Nymphony wasn't real, but we got Nymble. It didn't evolve, but we did get a regional variant of Tauros that was pure Fighting-Type. Eeeveee, which was just more Eevee, does not exist, but we got Dudunsparce, which is just more Dunsparce.

I would like to point out that even including Hisuian Samurott as a separate Pokémon, we’ve only had 5 starters that have had their final evolutions be quadrupeds. Venusaur, Meganium, Torterra, Unovan Samurott and Hisuian Samurott.

Being bipedal is not the real problem, anthropomorphism is. Many people, including Mikey, just can't put their finger on the real reason they don't like these starters, and find bipedalism to be the closest common feature.

@@wombat4191 agreed many of the earlier bipedal starters aren’t really humanoid. The only starters from Gen 1-4 bordering on humanoid are Blaziken and Infernape (which is justified since he’s a monkey)

17:25 Always loved the Idea of Pokemon evolutions happening mid fight. I imagine the requirements to be the following: - the Pokemon needs to be 5 or less levels away from its actually required Level for evolving - the bond between the trainer(you) and the Pokemon need to have reached a high enough level. - the Pokemon must be active in battle and lose most of its HP and/or have status ailments and/or have its stats lowered (just being overall in a bad shape to be simple). Upon evolving mid-fight, the Pokemon will recover most if not all of its HP, get rid of all status ailments, and lowered stats are normalized. And then the music kicks in and it feels like the tables have flipped on that mother trucker who just had you cornered a second ago. That I think would be a cool way to bring back some magic into Pokemon. But will Game Freak ever do that? NAAAA!!!

It took me ~80 hours to complete Arceus and (a quick google search told me) every "day" in the game is 24 minutes so that's about 200 in game days! Makes a bit more sense that it would take almost a year to complete the pokedex
