"...the destruction of their people" (NK's) refers to the conservatively estimated 70-80,000 soldiers manning the 4,000+ artillery emplacements across the 160 mile DMZ. To protect SK, the 1st priority is obliterating those threats. Which US sub launched TLAMs can do in less than 4 minutes. Subs & destroyers could deploy in excess of 240 TLAMs in that time, leaving the western 1/2 DMZ a giant crater. Followed by 7 B-52s w/ 42 AGM-86B nuclear cruise missiles to EMP the entire country in less than 30. That's just the FIRST 1/2 hour of the strikes. The NEXT 1/2 hour is F-35s & F-18s destroying any NK military assets above ground. Mobile launchers crippled by EMPs, sitting there unable to launch. Planes. Tanks. B-1Bs & B-2s w/ bunker busters. Prepositioned US Navy assets simultaneously sinking ALL NK vessels. "Wars" require an actual fight. This ain't a war. It's an Execution. So stop whining that it's a "distraction". Before last resort -preemptive strike is even considered, at least try out halting sanctions temporarily and halting war exercises to get NK to negotiate. Also, ensure intel about NK is 100% correct. Don't make same mistake as the Iraq war, wrong intel: bogus weapons of mass destruction. Cannot afford inaccurate intel in NK crisis that can lead to disastrous decisions. For example, wrong conclusion that NK nuclear is overrated when actually NK nuclear is very scary.
