It is less a military issue than a political one. The materiel will take a certain amount of time to arrive and be usable after the decision is made, but the decisions have often been delayed six months or a year after the need became obvious and things were requested.
@rostyslavadamchuk3300

''things were requested'' it ain't what you call Amazon or Ebay... ''things were requested'' by whom, what was requested or/if requested at all, instead of been ''politely asked for...'' people been supplied with enough fire power as it is ... if there is no outcome: why to supply more?

The problem is being reactive instead of proactive. If something takes six months to get there, we need to approve it six months before they need it
@jmhorange
@jmhorange 8 ай бұрын
@@jaketheauroran The other problem is the public. If people's lives get worse economically because of the War in Ukraine. And if the US ramps up helping Ukraine, the public won't necessarily tie domestic issues to Ukraine. And short of Ukraine destroying the Russians, no matter the level, people will probably say why aren't we helping Ukraine more?" while if economic conditions worsen, also saying, "This administration isn't doing anything for me!" But politicians can see the link between those two things that ties to their ability to effectively govern. So they are also going slow and being careful of how they help Ukraine because it can indirectly hamper their job if Americans aren't happy with the economy. That's also why sanctions haven't declined Russia by 30 percent like they told us it would. That was more like if the Russian central bank did nothing, it might collapse by 30 percent. Of course, any country's central bank is required to step in and protect the country's economy so that was never going to happen. Real sanctions that would crush Russia by 30 percent, would hurt the American economy a great deal. Also it's election season. So politicians have to decide will Americans be more upset about the economy declining or more upset about helping Ukraine. Americans tend to be louder about foreign issues but they tend to vote based on domestic issues, but who knows in this. It's not for nothing that this war feels like a Cold War remake with our old nemesis Russia on the other side. And so people have high anger/nostalgia to fight Russia.

From 2018 The planning of WWIII. “A bipartisan commission appointed by Congress issued a lengthy report Tuesday backing the Pentagon’s plans to prepare for a “great-power” war against Russia, China, or both, making clear that the Trump administration’s belligerent policies are shared by the Democratic Party. Safe in the knowledge that its findings will never be seriously reported by the mass media, the authors of this report do not mince words about what such a war will mean. A war between the United States and China, which according to the report might break out within four years, will be “horrendous” and “devastating.” The military will “face greater losses than at any time in decades.” Such a war could lead to “rapid nuclear escalation,” and American civilians will be attacked and likely killed. It is impossible to understand anything in American politics without recognizing one fundamental reality: the events and scandals that dominate political discourse, which make it onto the evening news and into headlines on news sites and social media feeds, have precious little to do with the considerations of those who actually make decisions. The media talking heads play their assigned roles, knowing that the most important topics can be discussed only within very circumscribed limits. Those who actually make policy-a select group of high-ranking members of Congress, Pentagon officials, and think-tank staffers, as well as White House aides-speak an entirely different language among themselves, and in publications they know the general public will not read, and the media will not seriously report.

People are ridiculous to think that shipping a piece of equipment next week will have a positive outcome instantly. Heck it took me a month to learn how to drive and maintain a Warrior APC back in 1991 then another 3 months to learn how to work the guns and command a vehicle. Then it took 6 months of training in the field as a infantry battalion to get certified ,and learn how to work with an armoured tank brigade. This is not "Call of Duty" video game. There is a lot of training that goes into these modern battlefield tactics with all of this equipment.....

We are reaching a decisive point in the war where Bladimir Putin of Russia is doing everything possible to reach an agreement in the war and for there to be a peace agreement between these two nations of Russia and Ukraine with the referendums as annexed cities what is happening On the contrary, on the part of the Ukrainians and the Zalesky government itself and NATO allied countries, filling with reinforcements of weapons such as military personnel around the world in the purchase and contracting of military equipment and military mercenaries to help Ukraine in the fight against Russia so that they go to the front line to fight what has brought down the fact that there is no end to the war because neither Ukraine nor NATO are interested or willing to negotiate an end to the war to the conflict but to extend it even for years derived from the Ukrainians' own disinterest in wanting to continue the war, even NATO and allied countries, that is to say that the war does not end, that is the reality of everything in Ukraine and NATO in leading a war for years that would have an end to themselves. They will show a little interest in finishing it, more than a term, they are trying to extend it by hiring civilians of any nationality from all over the world as mercenaries to go fight for the war. That is the double standard of Ukraine and NATO, the lack of interest in why it is war ends and they hire armed civilians and train them by NATO forces and allied countries to fight against Russia, it is no longer just Russia's fault but rather Ukraine and NATO in their efforts not to agree for war so that it ends ended the conflict of the war, which would have serious consequences if the call for peace was not heeded as it has come as a consequence in these days and before POS to the war if this war of not only two countries but of more also involved will never end this war, it is everyone's business for this to end 🇷🇺🇺🇦

The overwhelming amоunt of approving and cheering соmments by ordinary Russians in response to videos about the atrocities committed against civilians and prisoners of war in Ukraine were equally as shocking to Ukrainians as the war itself. We somehow became accustomed to the war, but the realization of who we have been living alongside all this time without even knowing it is still horrifying. Those barbaric creatures referred to themselves as our brоthеrs. Just imagine what they would do to you, who they саІІ their enemies, if given the chance. “Dmitry Medvedev, Russia’s former president early Monday claimed that the scenario of a nuclear apocalypse is “quite probable.” “I will note one thing that politicians of all stripes do not like to admit: A nuclear apocalypse is not only possible, but also quite probable,” Dmitry Medvedev said in a statement on Telegram. Medvedev argued that there are at least two reasons for such a scenario to occur, citing the ongoing confrontation between Russia and the West as the first cause. “The world is in a confrontation much worse than during the Caribbean crisis, because our opponents have decided to really defeat the largest nuclear power - Russia,” Medvedev further said. The second reason, he said, is the lack of a taboo concerning the use of nuclear weapons, which he said have already been used before.

Lavrov-“Don’t Think That Your Geographical Location Will Save You”: Lavrov Shocked The U.S. With His Statement. This statement was made on Friday and has already caused outrage in Washington. The representatives of the American establishment sitting in the White House were speechless by Lavrov's statement in the most direct sense of the word. So, answering journalists' questions, the Russian Foreign Minister bluntly stated that the United States would not be able to stand aside in the event of the outbreak of a global conflict, which Washington is so diligently provoking. Its geographical position will not save the United States. On the contrary, the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, which saved the United States during the Second and First World Wars, this time will not be the saviors of the United States but the executors of punishment.

Did you know that Ukraine was the cofounder of the USSR. Actually the Socialist Republic started in Ukraine and migrated to Russia. It was the Soviet NKVD running their Gulag system that taught Hitler what a concentration camp is and how to run it. For 70+ years Ukraine and Russia were husband and wife. Even the Navy Ships Russia has were built in Ukraine to protect the beloved Union. So now these blood animals are going through a bad divorce and neither are fit to have custody of the kids. Because Ukraine is the second most corrupt state in Europe, behind her spouse Russia. Eff these Soviets, they are worthless and Karma is giving them what they deserve. Give them 50 F-15E and a decent stockpile of weapons for them. Sure, it will take a while to train on them but they could start training immediately. It would send a strong signal that Ukraine will be able to gain air superiority over their own territory soon. Combined with the F-16s already on the way, this would be a significantly stronger air force than they started with before the war. NATO compatible air launched missiles sent to them could be fully utilized at maximum range and in all operating modes. No more jury rigging onto their old Soviet aircraft. One on the longer commentaries by our highest ranking military leader. I've always felt he was under great strain, perhaps because of the gap of what he would like to do for Ukraine, and which surely he knows the US and NATO would do if their own troops were faced with the same tasks and tactical and strategic objectives as Ukraine right now, esp. in reference to pushing through some 12 km. of triple tiered Russian defenses, and, hitting Russian defense nodes at a longer range than at present with Himars...ATACMs in other words. The general is unconvincing in his statements on mass of equipment and its timing: if it takes so long to ship, train, set up all the more reason to speed up decisons instead of stringing them out. That's not what's going on American public: the dangling delays spread out over 18 months now are strung out from fierce debates over what Putin's reaction will be to more artillery, more modern tanks, longer range missiles and of course F-16's. In my analysis that's the source of the great pressure on the general, chaffing a bit, or more under civilian cautions which are bleeding Ukraine slowly. As Zelensky has just warned, Ukraine is not going to sit by passively while Putin blacks out, freezes, starves Ukraine this winter. Ukriane will strike back in imaginative ways and I hope they give Biden as well as Putin nightmares - Biden's over all the deaths his dangling delays and timid temperment has caused Ukraine to suffer.

The United States' largest export is refined petroleum products and now LNG. The USA has completely taken over the European market for gas. Everyone who matters in the USA is making serious bank from this War. Why do you think those in Power want it to end? Additional note; In terms of a percentage of the Federal Budget, Ukraine is costing less than half of what the Afghanistan Invasion cost. The USA did nothing but lose money in Afghanistan. Corporate Profits and Tax Revenues have all been up since Ukraine started. As has American Power in Europe. The Continent is now dependant on the US for gas. The United States is massively winning out of this conflict. You just have to ignore all the dead people.

I agree it was 'unconvincing' of General Milley to omit any mention of intentional delays of armaments over concerns of escalation. However, escalation is a VERY legitimate concern. Even now, with the benefit of hindsight, we cannot say with any certainty that had we sent HIMARS sooner that Putin's reaction would be the same as it was when we finally did send them. If we had sent all at once what Ukraine now has (hundreds of tanks, over a thousand howitzers, millions of rounds of artillery shells, dozens of HIMARS, thousands of GMLRS missiles, longer range missiles like Storm Shadow, over a thousand armored fighting vehicles from multiple NATO nations, etc.), analysts were legitimately worried that the shock of such as massive response would have prompted Putin to issue an even greater counter - full mobilization and possibly the use of tactical nukes. Given that no one knows the point at which Putin would be triggered to go 'all in', the alternative is to 'slow-walk' supplies such that Putin maintains some sense that he could still win, yet all the while, we, and Ukraine in particular, are slowly bleeding both Russia's military and their economy to death. Using this strategy, by the time Russia collectively realizes they cannot possibly win, they will be so depleted that they don't even have either the manpower or materials to effect an escalation. That is the proverbial 'death by thousand cuts'.

Well let’s see. That exit negotiation was planned during the Trump administration. So that would be on whoever the hell was his security of state and defense at the time. I’ll wait till you can figure out who had been fired or who it was at the time???? However Afghanistan was a total disaster. I agree.

Donations to Ukraine is NOT Charity but investments into a more peaceful world. The United States is the Leader of the free world and with that leadership position comes responsibility. Europe must also step up and do more. Russia MUST be stopped.

"investments into a more peaceful world" like in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria? Any other countries I missed that the United States helped destroy over the last 20 years?

@@SeptikAvenger typical uneducated on the subject just taking anti usa stance you clearly dont understand the afghanistan war or even iraq or syria as syria is hardly the usa fault there are many powers at work including russia dont forget next to us troops in the middle east was and is afghani, iraqi people unfortunately now the women of afghanistan suffer once again after having a taste of freedom very sad dont forget russia has invaded gerogia moldova chechniya twice crimia and ukraine all in my life and has helped facilitate coups in africa many many of them so go do some research before you say nonsense its also a fact that the free world working with usa benefits all parties far more than being dictators working with dictators where nobody wins other than a very few at the top

a true and honest and smart leader will always find a way to beat the other side without having to fire anything, but war is the last choice.

Active duty over here with 15yrs: when we order parts for our ships, we need justification, approval, funding, availability, who needs it the soonest, what countries allow us and who can we trust to transport it, where can we meet for delivery, how can we deliver it, it takes time. And sometimes, the stars have to align to get it there in a timely manner. It's not Amazon.
