General Milley is a great military leader. America has lost a great citizen when he retired. May he and his beloved wife enjoy the years ahead of them. 🙏

Martha pushed the good General too far by asking controversial questions, but General Milley held his ground and responded as any good patriotic leader should do. In my opinion, America has lost a true American leader who loves his country. 🙏. Enjoy your retirement, General Milley. 😢

This interviewer is completely and utterly inept. If you don’t know your subject, don’t take the gig. If we had “nervous” military leaders (as she repeatedly looked for Milley to start wringing his hands in angst?!?)., we would have a military like her. Someday…I dream of a journalism that is not obsessed with “if it bleeds it leads”. Don Henley got it right in 1987…”the bubble headed bleached blond she comes on at 5, she can tell you about the plane crash, with a gleam in her eye”

Great interview! They obviously have a shared history, but she kept asking him the tough direct questions and, he, in turn, kept sticking to what he feels is his role and declined to answer in any way that might be twisted later down the road as political. Great respect for Gen Milley for working in such difficult situations and for upholding the Constitution and safeguarding the American people.

Nonsense; If you supported or objected to the retreat from Afghanistan the way it was conducted was disastrous and all responsible should have resigned out of shame or faced courts-martial. At least Kimmel and Short face disciplined for Pearl Harbor. Milley and the others get off with not even a slap on the wrist. As for Afghanistan over all: that was a failure of policy across multiple decades, administrations and political parties. Number one policy failure was nation building, the attempt to bring a country living in the7th century into the 21st.

I was just thinking the same thing! We need someone who is aggressively apolitical and bipartisan in that role to unite this fracturing country. Too bad so many people on the right were quick to do a 180 and disavow Milley for doing nothing but being honest that he is beholden to his duty and a higher authority in the constitution, to serve men in uniform and interest of the US people, and in so having the honesty and humility to admit (very publicly) when he was wrong, rather than double down as so many impulsively do these days. It’d be great to see a man of Miller’s caliber run for President, and represent us all, without favor. But, as usual, good men seldom seek power so much to put themselves through the gruels and attentions that comes with being present.
@ourtube3801

@@J_McPhearsom Completely agree. With a few exceptions, military leaders in our country are typically very cultured, highly educated and experienced in both the field of battle and politics. More importantly, they understand their constitutional responsibilities. You are right though--people of this caliber would not want the burden of high office unless we seek their leadership (as was the case with Eisenhower and especially Washington).

Milley is the Traitor. Milley is also constrained by the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ), which REQUIRES that if there is a question of the legality of an order, that Milley SPEAK UP about it "then and there" and make his objections known. This is for the obvious goal of clearing up miscommunications about orders. Milley DELIBERATELY told no one, objected to no one, defied orders, broke the Chain of Command, contacted Chinese "Foreign Dignitaries" and communicated sensitive military information. So, yeah, Treason. TWO of the THREE types of Treason, to be specific. Look up the definition of the 3 types of Treason. Milley also violated UCMJ Article 88, and Article 194, and that too is easy to verify on the net.

Milley had to choose between America and Donald Trump and didn't blink to abide by his oath to our Constitution. May we always have men & women in leadership roles to fight against our enemies foreign and DOMESTIC.

The US lost 80 billion in new equipment for China and Russia to copy and calling CCP General to warn about our President Trump was the ultimate Treason for this dodo. He is not the hero and he is not a war hero, he is just the pawn of CCP Xi Jin Ping, get a life WOKE.

Can you please tell General Milley that I am Still being a target to be tied to people who are really sick, emphasema, and trying to turn all my friends against me by implying that I am trying to help drunks, alcoholics, and derilects in the street! I can't even go to the dentist without doctors hurting me because they believe I am leading people to the left! Can you ask him for me to watch over me while I try to get a much needed dental appointment without someone hurting me? Friday I am going to the dentist in Wyncote on Easton Rd. I am afraid!

Thank you General for your service. Thank you for defending our constitution and the American people from possible collapse of our democracy during the time of the former pres. I read Mark Esper's book of how hard the two of you work so that we will as a country stay free.

@@paulscountry456 I agree with you 100%. Milllie Vanillie is a traitor. Imagine if our General George C. Marshal call Hitler General Staff and told Hitler that the D-Day will be in Normandy bypassing President Roosevelt. That was a betrayal. When I am working in the government or private sector, my loyalty is to the company or the government. I never dare to bypass my boss to talk to other companies to warn other companies if my boss goes off the rails. IT WAS BETRAYAL PAL, a big time. His rank should be a Private First Class with UCMJ punishment just like Manning. Millie Vanillie should be in Fort Leavenworth
