She's 16 1/2, so you probably can understand, if you have a daughter, you'd be familiar with a young lady coming into her own, make-up, hairstyles clothes, etc. If you don't like her hair, just remember, her hair color isn't patches of green, purple, blue and/or arms covered with tattoos, and enough piercings to put up a shower curtain... Like you stated, She changed the key to this song, but does it really matter as long as she has the ability to give each word, or phrase, meaning like no one else in this universe can. How can she evoke such emotion in each and every performance? Why do I get chills, or cry tears, or lose my breath when Angelina sing a song that I have experienced many times in the past without this happening? If this feeling only happened to me that would be ok, but it happens to billions of people. We play these videos of AJ over, and over again to get our high. I was a Whitney fan from the beginning of her career to her tragic end. Whitney was great, but Angelina at 16 is far better than Whitney ever was at making you feel each word, and phrase. AJ changes every cover to make if hers and far, far better than the original. AJ is the great STORYTELLING ARTEST I have ever experienced in my 75 years.

Ken, I'm not sure if I believe in reincarnation, but that is the only explanation I can come up with too to explain the totality of the phenomenon that is Angelina Jordan. A few days ago I started to figure the odds of one person having the list of unique attributes Angelina has BY CHANCE. The numbers started to get so huge that I gave up halfway through the list. 🤯 Here are just some of those attributes: True vocal prodigy, 6 ft tall female, has older blood relative who is also a prodigy to mentor her, loved jazz music from age 3, from upper middle-class family, speaks three languages, born in the past 30 years, has older blood relative who is a talent manager, has extremely high emotional intelligence, multicultural background, has traveled much of the world at a young age. You guys had a really enjoyable and insightful conversation after this performance. Regarding her younger performance - what tripped her was that she was so into jazz/blues that she automatically syncopated everything. Changing genre to "the genre of Whitney Huston" allows for way less syncopation. Especially when singing over a track it becomes really obvious. In the younger version, she also had to "compress" a lot more when moving up the scales. She has clearly worked wonders on her upper head voice. As she demonstrated live here in Norway when opening her concert to "Mount Everest" (there is a fan video with quite a decent sound quality out there). Her development in her high resonance is astonishing. Final thoughts. It is 12 years until AJ catch up to Whitney Huston recording this song. She has at least 12 years before the peak of her vocal development (statistically). That gives some hopes for the future at times when many things feel like moving backwards. 👍

I watched and subscribed when you reacted with your dad(hope all is well with him) and now i subscribed/liked your reaction now as i always do to help out the channels and to promote Angelina. She is about 16.5 years now(half years are important when you are young as Angelina is). Yes nine in i put a spell on you and 13 in Bohemian Rhapsody (recorded short before turning 14). I was so lucky to hear her live at Kongsberg on July 7th. She is even more heavenly to listen to live. I was standing like 6 meters away from her while she performed(3.row) and i had no problem to give away the 2 front rows to the fans that traveled from USA, Germany, Switzerland, Italy(drove 1 from Italy home to his hotel for free in 50 km opposite way after the concert),(that is what angels do) and i enjoyed the ride(He was the only 1 that got her autograph that day by asking her mother). I met several you tubers that day (Alan Papier from England, Big Angie fan(Chris Walker) from Hawaii and several other fans that made the concert top notch above Angelinas performance. You really have much material from concert from the fans and no copyright there. You will get goosebumps and be moved to tears as we all did when she performed in Norway which is her first performances since A G T. She was so happy to perform again in front of fans loving her. She spoke Norwegian/English so all understood her. She was positive and emotional during her performance and we listeners got emotional by listening to her. It was more heavenly to listen to her live than through video reacting. I do like on all her reactions and i wish all did to help her and the channels. Wish more also commented on the videos(even i could do it better) but all helps. I cant wait for you 2 to react more to Angelina. Thank you for your reaction to this beautifully talented artist. Yes, she dropped the key one and a half steps, from G to E, but it doesn't change the complexity of the performance. Whitney didn't sing in G when live, but in F, and it did't change her great live performance. Whitney has a higher voice, while Angelina has that beautiful lower register. Both are awesome singers in their own right. I do get more emotional with Angelina's version, somehow she tends to do that, and to many others I've heard. As a musician, I also appreciate that she also plays various instruments, keyboards, guitar, flute, etc., and is involved in the arrangement of her songs.

There are two more songs I believe you will totally enjoy of hers the first is a very different style like an EDM but she crushes it and you will want to dance its called "Above the Waters" its a collaboration. The only reason I think she is not a bigger celebrity is that ever since she was a small child she has sung for an older audience rather than her contemporaries and that is still true. I think that perhaps when she releases her upcoming albums there will be themes from her own experience that will resonate with other young adults.

She sang both (and subsequent) times at a lower key... Which is her natural key... It "allowed" her to sing with her natural voice.. she's accustomed to playing with the lyrics, particular back phrasing is, for your info, how she sings all her songs, it's common in the world of Jazz...can't say you boys haven't venture into the that kind of music it would better educate you as to her style..what you hear as "trouble with the phrasing" or "struggling" would be heard as her interpretation founded on her Jazz foundation. The cover she did at an earlier age and the original key taxed her a bit, but she hung in there... And now, her voice is able to sing a her natural key, and with 4 yrs of vocal growth, that would be vocal mechanism is now able to facilitate the style and presentation...
