Oh so happy you did a reaction to MinGyu ,…he is an amazing solo artist too! And yes you did pronounce his name correctly 😊 This is just one performance of his that is so fascinating. ❤And yes he is an opera singer like Ko Woorim same University , same Bachelor and Masters Degree of Music _classical Voice but he is Woorim’s education senior by 6 years.. he met Woorim there before they came together for the Phantom Singer 2 audition. Both were wanting to explore other musical interests that weren’t available in the opera world. Eclectic music for an eclectic musician who is the leader of an eclectic group ❤

I don't wanna be unfair to my beloved group guys, so I leave my info text about Cho MinGyu too. I know it's long, it's on you to read it or skip it. Cho MinGyu (I'll say MG) is a classical leggiero tenor and the leader of Forestella. In the field of classical vocal, opera singer is considered as the best successful career in Korea as I know. MG also worked as an opera singer in Seoul Metropolitan Opera. (Actually he has unbroken-yet record of the youngest joined member.) He is very talented like to be one of the semifinalists in Montreal Concours. But in an international concours, one of the juries said him that he would not be able to be main role in opera for his unique voice and could get a sub role as the best.. Imagine how he felt! It would be more than a desperation. But he kept finding his way on music and decided to participate in Phantom Singer 2 audition. Not only his musical technique but also his producing talent shined in Phantom Singer 2 show throughout. He has very wide view on music so he could choose great songs for crossover arrangement. Also he was a smart producer who could pick the forte from each member and imaginate whole performance for the team. Any team he joined was called as MG's team. Even he was top elite who walked on the royal path- Seoul Arts High School & Seoul National University & Seoul Metropolitan Opera - he didn't hesitate to pick a foreign Kpop vocal (Sime Kosta) or to give the main part to an amateur rock vocalist (Kang HyungHo). You know, a true tenor, who can sing high note easily, who studied classical vocal for 20 years and has top career on it, is supposed to be full of ego (almost arogant)! But MG is so humble. He always teared up at his rivals' performances and expressed his feeling with detailed praises. He supports other members using himself as a bridge to make a whole performance complete as far HyungHo said at the interview when Forestella was formed as a final team. And this is why MG is the leader even though he is the 3rd in ages from the Forestella. (There's a kind of age-hierarchy in Korean culture tho)

The sad thing with Opera as a style seems to be that in a mainstream sense it is more or less ignored by most music listeners. Even though Opera is actually gaining popularity while Classical music is currently declining - it is still rare today for a new production to be proposed with a specific singer's skillset in mind for a lead role - something that happened fairly often back in the 1600 thru 1700's. That is not to say that Opera's are not still being written (they are!) but nothing like the number of productions that were turned out 300 to 400 years ago.

Thanks for your fantastic reaction to Cho MinGyu of Forestella. He is a Disney mania. He sang Into the Unknown in 12 languages (from Frozen II, also in English in his solo stage in the Forestella concert), In Summer (from Frozen), Disney medley, etc. He said his English is from the Disney animations lol. I highly recommend Cho MinGyu's another solo performance Kill This Love feat. Harry Potter concept. He sang it in British accent.

Thank you both for reacting to Soeechless, and yes Naomi Scott was Jasmine in Aladdin and her video of this has 2.3 million views, I love the live action version as well as the original, but live action was so beautifully done, incredible performances, definitely worth watching ❤. Thank you both for your continued positive support for Forestella and Dimash. The kitten short video was precious, I am waiting for more recent footage in a short, kitten’s and cats are so popular so that channel should have many views, I have definitely shared already❤.
