Perhaps it is because we are still young. We are experimenting, trying to find ourselves through trends. It is a bit over-the top in this specific episode, but it is what it is. Milleneals are grown, they do not search to discover themselves that much(not to say that they do not anymore), but it definitely gets toned down after their teenage years.

I love the girl in the pink. Her personality and vibe is everything. Such a girl's girl and I love how confident the Gen Z kids are in their outfits too. Granted I immediately found 2 of them kinda ugly and would not really wear any of their outfits, but I admire their confidence to put together what they like and express themselves. I really like those over dressed, accessorised fits and tbh i have seen these crazy unique outfits a lot well not irl. I was the mushroom sweater and bunny hat girl. I even wore purple eyeshade and had that collar. And i am very pettite as well. But after 33 i felt that i am starting to look as a grandma pretending to be teen. And i started to shift my style from anime main character to main character's mom. I still think Jupiter's style was the best - fun and not bland.
