Robert Plant is still singing! I saw him in June 2023, in concert with Alison Krauss, at a wonderful outdoor venue in Taos, New Mexico. It was the 4th time I've seen him, and he still has it! Led Zeppelin in 1974, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant in 1994, Robert Plant solo in 2009, and then 2023. He still has that effect on the ladies!

Best drummer in the world, and on their most famous song he doesn't come in until halfway through. :) This is probably just about the most listened to song of all time. If you were going to make a time capsule of the 1970s, this song would be the first thing to go into it. Prog metal at its best. Double-neck guitars mean you can have a 12-string and a 6-string (like Jimmy Page is using here), or a 6-string and a bass, or two different tunings. As someone who loves alternative tunings but drives a 12-string (which takes forever to re-tune), one of those would be very useful!

That’s a “double neck” Gibson brand, SG model guitar. The bottom neck is a standard 6 string guitar, the top neck is a 12 string guitar. The 12 string uses a 6 string set of strings just like the 6 string neck does. It also has a lighter set of 6 strings that are tuned one octave higher. So you have an E string, with another E real close to it, just tuned higher. This holds true as you go down the neck. So the pattern is Ee, Aa, Dd, Gg, Bb, Ee. The reason for this is simple. It creates a fuller sound by having the same notes played at the same time, but in two separate octaves. It “thickens” the sound. Not all double necks are 12 and 6 layout. I’ve seen 4 string bass and 6 string guitar. Also a double 6 string, but one neck was normal and the other was a tenor. Seems I remember a 6 string guitar and 5 string banjo together in one on the Hee Haw tv show back in the 70’s, but that’s been a day or two ago.

I love seeing younger people react to LZ. They're amazing! It was a little before my time, but I was lucky enough to grow up w 5 siblings (4 of which were at least 9 yrs older than me), so the variety of music I was exposed to was pretty crazy, but I wouldn't trade it for anything. I feel for anyone who gets stuck on one genre or one decade when there is so much out there to experience. I love your reactions, and if you haven't checked out "When the Levee Breaks" by LZ, I highly recommend it!
@alexfletcher51924 ай бұрын
This song was one of the most played tunes on American radio for over a decade and, for many, it is probably the defining song of British rock. That has lead it to be lambasted, in the wake of new styles. But in its context it is still very moving. One of the central difficulties in music criticism is not recognising what matters to people in different times.

Aww babe, you need to have been inducted into the Led Zep genre when you were a baby, like I was, my two older bros bought this and a whole heap of other stuff into my life before I was going to school. I knew this band before my infant school teachers!!. Yeh..plus all the other bands they would never have known of. Then I had to come downstairs late at night (not waking mum up) to watch Old Grey Whistle Test and find a whole lot more bands. Brilliant days.. (I was also the age that had to be woken up to see Moon Walk in 1967, remembers World Cup Willie from 1966 - Alan Ball lived up the road from us; be woken up to watch EVERY fight Muhammed Ali fought in and so much more..) And my parents are Jamaican immigrants from the mid 50's. I have had a great life!!

You did the studio of Since I’ve Been Loving You, you need to do the live at Madison Square Gardens (1973). Try live at Earls Court the May 25,1975 version of In My Time Of Dying, that date is the best version, Jimmy Pages guitar playing is killer. Live at Knebworth (1979) Kashmir, is the song the band is most proud of. Live version of Dazed & Confused at either, Royal Albert Hall (1970), or Madison Square Garden (1973). Sadly you can’t get the 30 minute version, which is mind blowing. To build your channel, do Led Zeppelin reactions on a more regular bases, we are diehard fans. Thank you for your reaction.

His band is still going strong cutting albums and touring. He’ll be touring here in Italy in November and also going until next year. The Italians love them. I am not Italian I am Irish and for me, it is like listening to a bard transported into rock ‘n’ roll.

LOL. Like it, very good. All the noise you hear is surface with Zeppelin, you gotta go under mind to realise their function. All the world's a stage. And all the men and women merely players; They have their exits and their entrances; And one man in his time plays many parts, His acts being seven ages. At first the infant, Mewling and puking in the nurse’s arms; And then the whining school-boy, with his satchel And shining morning face, creeping like snail Unwillingly to school. And then the lover, Sighing like furnace, with a woeful ballad Made to his mistress’ eyebrow. Then a soldier, Full of strange oaths, and bearded like the pard, Jealous in honour, sudden and quick in quarrel, Seeking the bubble reputation Even in the cannon’s mouth. And then the justice, In fair round belly with good capon lin’d, With eyes severe and beard of formal cut, Full of wise saws and modern instances; And so he plays his part. The sixth age shifts Into the lean and slipper’d pantaloon, With spectacles on nose and pouch on side; His youthful hose, well sav’d, a world too wide For his shrunk shank; and his big manly voice, Turning again toward childish treble, pipes And whistles in his sound. Last scene of all, That ends this strange eventful history, Is second childishness and mere oblivion; Sans teeth, sans eyes, sans taste, sans everything.
