Life-long day dreamer here. I've always found it staggering to see just how much time my friends and coworkers waste on genuinely meaningless distractions. I'm not suggesting I'm a winner in life, but the "emotional stability" of people over recent decades years has markedly degraded. Pro-tip , those who wander are never really lost. But also, lost time is never found again.

I was listening to KZbin in the background while working, not paying attention but just for the chatter. Tuned into 8:30 😂 was in deep focus and then heard the words deep focus. I notice my patterns a lot better now. When I'm craving something sugary or want to play a video game, it's almost like I have to keep pushing my brain to keep focusing again. Like working out, when it's just on the edge of too hard but it's meant to be so I can get stronger. It's always a work in progress.

If you think about things more during the day, you're less likely to have insomnia too. Cause that's when all the things you've been shoving aside with distraction come back to haunt you, as you try to fall asleep.

use those thoughts for stories, many people would read them. people love things like lovecraft and many other abominable horrors. use what makes you unique to your advantage. you may not think the world is ready for your horrors but i assure you the world is full of things far more ghastly than anything you could conjure in your wildest dreams. i mean those are the exact same thoughts that inspired one of the greatest writers of all time edgar allen poe.

Marketers sell the catalogue that they represent.
@copm4260
@copm4260 19 күн бұрын
not necassarily they sell you the idea of what they represent, and thats an important destinction. the reason why is because alot of the time you dont need the physical item but the idea they can sell you on can be insatiable. its why so many people just keep buying terrible crap that tiktokers tell them to buy because its all about status.

As a Fictional Marketer, there are definitely a large subset that fit the definition of selling the masses diversions, but a lot of marketers, myself include, focus on selling solutions to problems. It all depends on the product.

I got the habit of being distracted by the media, but usually playing it on the back while i do something else. The result? I dont really remember any of it. Its not impactful. Multitasking is possible, but most of the time focus is required. I also been day dreaming all my life and still do. It was on itself a distraction.

I'm actually suprised that people get distracted and go into endless spirals, and I have ADHD, and the easiest thing to do to get out of a bad distraction is finding a hobby, soccer, crafts or even comedy, that hobby can grow, and eventually be something you enjoy and find like-minded people that share that, my distracts don hold my attention because my daydreaming interrupts my distractions like KZbin ads, I daydreaming of spaceships, yeah that's a weird one, but I love mechanical crap. Edit: can't bother to go back through my comment to correct my errors, keyboard on mobile is as f'ed as the retirement bingo machine.

I spend 99% of my workday in deep thought. I credit this to working for mennonites that don't let me have a phone on the job, and a job I can do entirely on autopilot and still make furniture that wins awards at shows. It's not all good, but I guess better to deal with a miserable life late than never.
