I'd say Chappell and Gaga got a lot of their inspirations from the same places (LGBT culture obviously) but when people say Chappell is like this generation's Gaga I feel like we're forgetting just how out there Gaga used to be. Like Chappell is doing a lil drag queen makeup, wearing a medieval looking dress to a red carpet, performing as a knight. Meanwhile Gaga wore a dress made of real meat, was carried onto a red carpet in an alien egg, and had an awards show performance with fake blood where people genuinely thought she got hurt and was wailing in pain. Gaga was on another level, they're just not the same.

The Doechii hate is suuper bizarre on Twitter. The mfs on there have some problems fr. They are saying anything they can to not engage with her music. The hate is much deeper than them “just not liking the music.”
@chloee310523 сағат бұрын
i think a lot of the more personal hate is because of her association to kendrick & tde like there's an inevitable amount of hate that female rappers get as almost an initiation but i think it's no coincidence that drake fans seem to be the ones leading the hate train specifically with the calling her music harriet tubman music, there's a lot of built up resentment that get unfairly directed towards her because she's an easier target being new and all (and then obviously there's the barbs too...)

Gen Z is VERY talented and there are plently of artist that have substance and passion but music is soo oversaturrated it's just like fast food now so people have gotten bored of the music industry especially because people have been able to make successful careers through social media instead of getting signed to a label like back in the day.
@tylerhackner9731Күн бұрын
Agreed, there are plenty of us especially outside the mainstream that make actual music instead of merely TikTok trends (Willow smith for example) but it’s hard to break through that noise when there’s so much out there and the public likes that quick easy dopamine hit
@baonemogomotsi7138Күн бұрын

Ever since that man brought up freeing slaves that opened up the door for people to bully any darker skinned artist that talks about their experience as a black person. When j cole talks about it I don’t see any Harriet, MLK, Malcolm X comparisons being made for him, that line did so much harm. Don’t even get me started on the “shea butter” comments 🤦🏾♀️
