Tommy, you should know that Alison is one of a kind. To be out there with you degreesing a transmission in the rain. You don't find that in life but once. That is a special kind of love my boy. You cherish that girl and never let her go because if you do, you will regret it for the rest of your life. She is the total opposite of you know who. Keep doing what yous are doing. Yous will have times that are hard and yous might want to quit but don't. Give it time and it will work out in the end. That goes with everything in life. From family, friends, relationships, work and other things. Stay strong and remember if you work together as a team like yous do. Nothing will stop you. It might kick you a few steps back but you will leap a head of it in the long run.

It does work great but it’s painful to watch this poor kid sit there and labor over trying to get the thing spotless when it doesn’t matter at all cause Deon is gonna tear it down and put the case in the industrial washer and it will turn out like new with zero effort. Trust me Tommy, the transmission shop is used to dealing with dirty transmissions so it’s not necessary for you to sit out in the rain with a drill and wire wheel. OMG Allison nailed it! My dad bought an '89 Sierra in '89 and I was 9 years old. I literally thought my dad drove a spaceship!😂 Those trucks are fantastic! TBI 305/350's aren't much on HP but they are stone reliable!! I love the dashes in those trucks too but it makes an aftermarket stereo install, a big pain in the arse. At least they become centrally located for the driver AND passenger!😂🤣😂🤣 Bill, however, was wrong as usual.lol A 4l60e controls shift/line pressure through an epc solenoid which references TPS and yes TBI engines have throttle position sensors. They're used for fueling and cruise control on those trucks.

You have a good trans shop, I had one that shut down after they "rebuilt" it. 1800 bucks shot to hell when it blew up in 9 months. Shop had good refs, but owner had a stroke. Even though I`m screwed, I hope and pray for his recovery. Good luck, Stay safe all, God Bless

Hey Tommy tell Bill... 700R4 and 4L60 are the same trans, both with TV cables and no removable bellhousing. They simply changed the name of it but the 4L60 has a VSS rather than speed drive gears. The 4L60E is the one with no TV cable, removable bellhousing, and needs a computer to run it right. Most of the parts that spin inside are interchangeable among all three of them. There are some year breaks for different things, auxiliary valve bodies, VSS/speedo gear, tailshaft changes.. but for the most part they are all derivatives of the Th350. That reminds me, I need to finish building a 700 for a friend, then put it in the 65 GTO so I can test it before taking it to him. I bet his car is close to running now.
@Dumbass_mechanic2 жыл бұрын
Hell yeah! Go through that 385 and learn from the old man. Put those vortec heads on it and a little cam. Maybe put a kit in the transmission, and definitely put a trans cooler on it. That truck will definitely be a good daily driver/ tow pig.

I actually had a 96 c1500 step side with a 305 vortec in it. To my knowledge a lot of the stepside truck came with very tight limited slip posi rear end due to the fiberglass bed sides. You could always check the code in the glove box to find out exactly what gear ratio is in it before pulling the cover. Love the build and those OBS trucks!!

1994 is the last year for the flat dash in 1995 they came out with the rounded one. 1993 was the first year GM put the 4L60E in that truck. Same dash and Door panels and replacement parts are super hard to find for the old style dash so even if it's broke "Do Not" throw any of the parts away because you can always glue them back together and have someone 3D print you the parts. I repeat. "Do Not" throw away any interior parts. Speaking from experience.
