David Bowie only included Under Pressure on his set list after the death of Freddie Mercury as a sort of tribute to him as he always considered it to be more of a Queen number despite being a co writer.

@@Freddie1980 apart from performing the song at the tribute concert, he startet performing it live regularly when Gail joined the band in 1996 with the Outside Tour five years after. I've yet to see the quote where Bowie stated that he did not perform it because it was Queen's song. I do not question that he started performing after Freddi's death, just the motivation.

Deacon and Bowie were actually the main writers of the song, John with the riff and Bowie with the general melody. Freddie did most of the words. It was never ignored by Bowie just not considered particularly significant till the song over time went on to be regarded as truly great. After Freddy's death it became a classic but Bowie only started singing it as Gail (huge, huge Queen fan) championed it. Them's the facts.

Was working the main stage that night as part of the medical team. I was one of the guys behind the barriers rescuing the fainting dehydrated fans who had been down the front all day. DB is my absolute hero so I asked to swap my duty from the NME stage. Never believed that was the last time I would see him....
