GenCon 2019 - A Movie

I went to GenCon this past year and it was awesome! I met a lot of amazing people, picked up a couple games and put together this video to show what it was like from a first timers perspective. I heard there was no way you'd be able to see everything so I took that as a challenge to see as much as I could.. unfortunately that meant I didn't play or demo as many games as I wanted to. But now that I know that my next big con will be a better experience.
Ill have to put together another video of all the lessons I learned about filming for youtube and trying to interview. This was a fun learning experience and hopefully It shows just how much fun I had.
I also want to express my most heartfelt gratitude to those who contributed to make this adventure what it was; theres so many to name! Clay, J.J., Patrick, Gates, and the entire Leder Games crew, Randy and Ellen, Theresa, Jesse, all the interviewees taking the time to show me their game, and so many more; I love you guys!

Dude! Nice job: :) I screenshotted the FB post so that I would remember to drop back in and tonight was the night! You did a fantastic job driving the story and telling it from your perspective! I really enjoyed the whole edit - and the music and speed ramping were right on point (some of the speed ramping you did makes me want to evaluate how I shot some things!) - I think as you said on FB there is room for the narrative to grow - I learned that lesson at Origins and we will see if I improved on the model whenever I get the Gencon footage edited - I want to be with you more, hear your story and experience, and know why you are showing off the games you highlight :) - Also . . . thanks for the photo at the end - It caught me off guard. I love how you're up bright and early on Friday morning, and still smiling later that night, trying to show you're not tired, but you can just see the life draining out of you over the course of the four days in your video until you can't hide your exhaustion anymore. That's what too much fun looks like. That's Gen Con.

@@the_boardgameaholic8935 Gen Con is certainly unique. I heard of another board gaming Con in Columbus, OH called Origins and inquired about how it differed from Gen Con and got a host of answers that I was struggling to parse. Finally a guy distilled all the answers thusly: "Origins is for exploring your hobby. GenCon is for melting your hobby on a spoon and mainlining that for a week."
