I sincerely hope you enjoy this video, I loved working on it since FireRed and LeafGreen have a pretty interesting story! Sorry that my English is not perfect, it's not my native language. Made by Sakharu, voiced over by Brad Ziffer.

Those names are from the French version. This can happen from time to time as Sakharu is from France and lately has been translating his amazing videos in English. Take a look at his main channel, there’s some really good stuff. He also has a Pokémon themed channel « le Mont argenté »

My following of Pokemon has been pretty casual to be honest; Blue and the Stadiums are the only ones I spent a lot of time on. But I can't deny the games kept the lights on at Nintendo during the years when they couldn't keep up with Sony and Microsoft in the console department.

Thank you for your comprehensive video on this subject! I learned new things about what was going on inside Nintendo, which may have influenced the resulting games we've grown to love over the years. I just have to comment on the beginning part, where you were going through the many remakes in Pokémon series and as the Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl clips rolled around I just cringed. Sure they updated the underground minigame, but as a whole I feel it was a total let down in the saga of Pokémon remakes. It shouldn't be even compared to something like HGSS or ORAS.
@vabajabaАй бұрын
I want to add, that I really enjoyed the way you went through different aspects of the FRLG, like the art style, play experience, the difficulty etc. It's very refreshing and I'd like to see more videos with this kind of exploration into games.

1:14:22 Wait I think the music for island's 4, 5, 6, 7 actually make sense! The LAST section of this game has music from the FIRST sections of the previous gen, G/S/C! If you played through them before and reach the end of this journey on Kanto, you will hear a familiar song and be reminded of the start of your previous journey through Johto and the next part of this story! If you've not played through G/S/C before, you reach this area with new music and for you it's naturally part of the game since you've never heard these songs before. Then if you liked the game enough to finish it, you might continue to play Pokémon and try the other games and would eventually hear the song again! This is what happened to me, I eventually played HG/SS for the first time and I heard this music! I was not expecting it at all so it was very pleasant! Made me feel really cozy inside and made me love it hehe The devs most probably weren't thinking that far ahead but I think it all tights together really nicely 😆 Wonderful video BTW, I enjoyed it very much! 😊

I was in shock when I was 10 and I saw this weird looking red dinosaur thing and kinda palmed it off in Cairns Australia. Then later I saw the red/green remakes and because of the shiny green box I had to go for it. Then maybe a year later I was walking out of curry's in the England with sapphire unaware of the journey I was about to embark on. I loved crystal but i was young. It's not until that day I was driving home with my dad just staring at the back of that sapphire box. I nearly picked torchic but I'm glad I went mudkip...because what I saw my first blaziken I was like "wtf is that!?"

I vaguely remember the day I had gotten FR, from Walmart. I remember it being in those bins that used to sit in the aisles. I remember fishing it out, and asking for it. But that was my introduction to pokemon. The timing is a little hazy, as I try to remember because I remember having the gameboy and FR for years before I even got a DS and got a GEN 4 game.

I think the Sevii Islands Team Rocket content is meant to give a bit of context to why Team Rocket are still around in the Johto games, especially since it's confirmed that the final two Rockets that you fight there are Ariana and Archer from HeartGold/SoulSilver.

Could you do an analysis of Pokémon Yellow? How is it different from Red and Blue? Does it have its own storyline? I've always been confused as to its place in the Pokémon universe. Also, why are there always two games released each time? Red-Blue, Sword-Shield, Indigo-violet? Etc.
@765craven4Ай бұрын
The short answer on the two version thing is that it started out as a way for the games to be a social experience. Locking some Pokemon based on version encourages trading with other players. Nowadays it's just a way for them to make more money.
@Heather-BrАй бұрын
@@765craven4 Thanks for the info.

Pokemon Yellow doesn’t change much at all from Red/Blue. There are a couple battles with Jesse and James, you start with a Pikachu while your rival starts with Eevee (and evolves it based on how many battles you won against him), some gym leaders have different teams, and there are different sprites for the Pokemon themselves. The story and mechanics are unchanged otherwise.
@Heather-BrАй бұрын
@@cubefreak123 Thanks for the info. Now I'm wondering why they didn't just put a few battles with Jesse and James in Red-Blue, since, I assume, you can choose Pikachu as your sttter if you want. I thought Yellow was much more heavily influenced by the Anime, while Red-Blue went in their own direction as far as story went.
@cubefreak123Ай бұрын
@@Heather-Br Yellow actually doesn’t give you a choice for a starter but you can get Squirtle, Bulbasaur, and Charmander in the game from certain NPCs later on. You are correct in that the anime had some influence on the game, but as I mentioned, it’s not much overall.

FRLG are the second best remakes in the franchise. They respect the originals and didn't add a ton of new things that interferes with that faithfulness. BDSP is even better. I love those two remakes. Lets Go Pikachu and Eevee are enjoyable even though they are less faithful than FRLG and BDSP.
