I already knew about The Traits Project, but not about the asexuality and aromanticism mods. Thank you so much! Even though I'm quite the opposite, I had the feeling that some of my sims would be absolutely happy with these. Also, when I play with a romance sim for too long I sometimes need a break from purple hearts in the wants panel.

Yeah, it's nice to have some variety. And sims that aren't into the romance stuff have more time to do things like setting up an active business, or going on vacation, or getting a bunch of pets, or becoming a witch and studying to max skill. There is so much to do in this game 😄

That bisexual erasure ts2 does happened to me completely on accident once, I had a male sim go out with a girl, then changed his preference to bi so I can make drama by having him also flirt with his male best friend, and then it backfired because by the time I decided to find him a wife he had the audacity to tell me he was gay.

Maybe the jealousy mod and adults go steady? Because in the jealousy mod, jealously only works for married and sims that are going steady but not for crushes or sims in love and you can make them just get in love but not getting married or go steady (I hope that my English wasn't that bad I write this without translator and also that this helps)

Yes! There's several mods out there that let you change how jealousy works, like ACR, LizzLove's "No Jealousy at all" mod (modthesims.info/d/7927/testers-wanted-for-a-no-jealousy-at-all-behaviour-package.html), Smonaff's "No jealousy unless married/engaged/going steady (modthesims.info/d/185019/no-jealousy-unless-married-engaged-going-steady.html) and Midge's jealousy mod (midgethetree.tumblr.com/post/190920007751/hi-midge-ive-had-this-idea-for-a-while-no). I'll talk about those and more in detail when I do the video on jealousy.

This was very interesting ❤ Really enjoyed the deep dive. It's so amazing how many cool mods like this there are. Being asexual myself, it was super interesting to see all of the alternatives, and I appreciated how you tied it together with the real life experience. I only have one asexual sim in my hood so far, but this definitely gived me lots of inspiration for doing more with it once the next eligible sim shows up 🥰 As for picking gender preferences, I use the Simblender. It has a lot more options than the sim manipulator, although I didn't know what "low" referred to before this. Thank you again for making this, you are such a talent ❤

As an asexual person myself I'm always happy when people educate others on asexuality topic, I really appreciate it c: As far, I've had an aspec sim once as it came naturally since he never had any romance/woohoo related wants. Personally I can't imagine playing without ACR, imo it makes sims more realistic and riches the gameplay with some amount of unexpectance. Thank you for the video

Love your long informative videos, this is going to be great. And yess please do the gender identity based on mods video! One of the reasons why I stay with TS4 is because the gender options are super important to me, being able to have trans sims in TS2 would motivate me to play it much more.

A 100%. TS4 gets a lot of criticism from the TS2 community but their treatment of gender is undeniably the best we've had in the franchise. That video is still in the research phase but it's definitely coming, it's a topic that's very dear to my heart as well 😊

If it’s not already in the works I’d love a deep dive into how interests work and how / when they change. I’ve recently started implementing them into my game. I mostly play want based but when it comes to hobbies and turns ons / turn offs I feel like personality isn’t enough to base a valid decision on and randomizing can give mismatched results

Wandering on MTS, I remember not getting the point of the make out interaction fix by Marhis (i was probably not focused that day hehe), now after seeing this I think I will get it. :) To me, Nervous Subject could be an interesting asexual biromantic Sim. Players often headcanon him having a relationship with Pascal Curious and, according to the PSP game, he had a girlfriend at some time so it would makes sense. Amazing video, as always ! And I don't know if it just doesn't work for me, but links in your description appear to be broken.

Oh I didn't know about the PSP game lore, that's interesting! That's weird, the links are all working on my end. But I did notice that Pleasant Sims's blog has been more difficult to connect to lately, so if the links you're having trouble with are her recommended mods list and her article on ACR, then that might be why.

According to Rocket Horse's list, Beau Broke is pre-coded to have a 10-point attraction to female sims and 0 points towards male sims, but like I said, having him flirt with a male sim once he turns into a teen can change that 😃 For sims born in game, they'll have 0 points towards both genders, until they start interacting romantically with other sims as teens or older. So you can choose their orientation by choosing who they flirt with. I tend to make Beau gay as well 😊

This video is about gender preferences and how the game determines what that preference is, and since the sims series has always been popular with many LGBT+ people, letting anyone who are asexual and may wanna play the game as such, (Or anyone who wants to role play as asexual) know how it works in the Sims 2 is more than necessary. Also asexuality is a very misunderstood topic, and since this video is talking about a game mechanic that's very progressive for it's time, why not?

Uh. Gender preference in any Sims game is not actually represents its true colors from real life. In Sims 4 it is a switcher like your muppet will behave like you turn those switcher. They are not responsible for its developing until you tell them to do so. But once you do. Snip-snap and he is done. There is no drama and suffering about it. In Sims 3 it is based on personal traits which is good, but... that's all. It is not based on zodiac signs, on food preferences or color preferences which is bad. In Sims 2, the most upsetting, it is pure mathematics.
