I’m having a second boy and we’re just having a small “sprinkle” for close fam and friends to come over and celebrate me and the baby! I’m not really asking for much cause we pretty much have everything, just more about celebrating! Especially if you didn’t have a baby shower the first time, might be fun to experience just once ☺️

Congratulations!!! You absolutely need to have a baby shower! Every baby deserves to be celebrated! You could do a diaper shower. That's what I did with my 2nd boy.

I think you should still have a baby shower. I don’t see baby showers as just for presents, I see them as a celebration for baby. It can be a celebration without gifts even. Just something to consider.

Absolutely still have a baby shower! Even just to have family and friends together to celebrate makes it so worth it. You can always get crafty with ideas like diapers, wipes, custom onesies, etc.

Agreed! Even if you don't need gifts, you can still have a "baby celebration" party or a "sprinkle" where you still get to celebrate your pregnancy with your family and friends. I had a virtual shower for my 2020 baby and I hope to have some sort of in-person celebration for a future baby #2 to get that full baby shower experience (minus the gifts), even if I don't call it a "shower" :)

Plus babies are different and this one may prefer a different swaddle type, bottle style etc. From what Peter used so it's always nice to have an assortment!

My daughter was born April 2020 - her shower was supposed to be March 2020 so everything was cancelled very last minute and I never did anything virtual even bc I was just too upset 😔 pregnant with #2 now and I'm going all out regardless of the sex!

I'm so glad to hear about your perspective on having a boy. I'm a total boy mom myself and it does seem like a lot of expressions of gender disappointment come from having a boy instead of a girl, and that's a little sad to me. Boys are wonderful, too!

Why don’t you have a baby shower but get people to donate the items to a charity or buy some small things for Peter so he feels special and give them to him when all the attention is on the new baby.

Watching this video late. Just came across your channel, but I just wanted to say I understand your feelings with having boys. My first three were boys and when I was pregnant with my 4th which ended up being a girl, everyone thought we must have been trying for a girl. LOL! Truth is I love my sons. We currently have 6 boys and 3 girls and are expecting baby #10 Spring of 2023. I am just about to take the Sneak Peek test and was looking for a how to video; hence my coming across your channel! I would have a diaper and wipe shower. I have two boys and had two showers. Be excited about another boy! All babies are blessings. My family acted like having two boys was the worst. It definitely hurt my feelings until I realized all the girls born in my family are wild and crazy!😆🤣

I found that people just generally aren't as excited for second babies, regardless of gender. You might feel that it's because it's the same gender, but it's not. It just it what it is. A first baby is exciting, new, the beginning of a family, all the things. Also, although gender seems a big deal when your family is so young and you're still having babies, it really isn't as much of a deal as they get older. You'll see! It's easy to get swept up in it while they are babies/toddlers. but honestly once out of that stage of life and into school years for example, it really is a thing of the past and everyone is happy with their lot. You say you are excited for another boy, but watching your gender reveal I can't help but think your reaction would have been totally different if you were having a girl, and you told yourself you were having a boy so that you wouldn't be disappointed if that's what it turned out to be. I just want to reassure you that in the larger scale of things it really doesn't matter!!! Mine are in school now and all the talk of babies/genders/cute clothes is all a thing of the past. There are much bigger fish to fry. Wishing you blessings.

Have a baby shower! You can request no gifts or have just a diaper/wipes shower. You should experience all the silly games and get a chance to spend time with friends and family during your pregnancy. I had my first baby 9 months after you and since it was still Pandemic time it was a very small shower but I hold the memory close to my heart.

They play so well together( for being boys lol) and it warms my heart. We need great men in this world and you Jacob are amazing parents for that. I also loved how you shared your feelings about both genders in the beginning of the video. And Jacob is right about the energy that little boys bring (as I’m sure you already see in Peter) and extra spackling needed hahah. Congratulations!! I kinda feel the opposite about how people react about gender. I feel like everyone wants a boy for their 1st and especially from dads. So when you have girls (i have 2). Everyone always asks if we're gonna try for a boy. I feel like maybe girlfriends get more excited when you're having girls only because they get to buy cute girly baby clothes lol

Congrats on your new child! I was hoping for you to get a daughter this time, but I think you will be happy anyway. I believe there could be a slight genetic factor on frequency of the gender (ie gender hormone levels of the partner etc). My wife and I were hoping for a boy, but got a girl, and love her just the same.

Came from the last video of doing the gender test and congratulating on your baby boy !!!! I’m 15 weeks and 6 days today . Haven’t found out my rainbow baby also my first baby gender yet was thinking about the test you had taken cause my doctor did my test twice and still hasn’t found the gender of my baby . One of the nurses who called me to tell me I would have to get another blood test done after I get back from vacation said maybe it’s cause of my weight . I’m sure that’s not the problem I know women’s 250+ and they find it fast but I’ll just wait . Love your video 💕💕

I have 2 boys and I'm pregnant with my third and every woman that I have told has immediately said that they hope this one is a girl which is annoying, so I definitely feel you when you say people seem to be more excited about girls than boys. Having 2 boys has been wild, but they definitely love each other so much.

My husband has two brothers and their really close in age (3 years between my husband and his youngest brother). I love hearing about his stories of growing up. Seems like a fun, crazy household. They've continued to stay close as they've gotten older even with living far away. I think your two boys will be so lucky to have each other!

Ugh had the worse experience with sneakpeek gender test. Sent out my sample and never got there and when I tried to reach out I got nothing, literally messaged them in all their socials and still to this day have not heard back.

I did both as well. Sneak peak and nipt testing. Somehow I was still on edge when I went to my 20 week anatomy scan. Both turned out to be correct for us. This is our first boy after 3 beautiful girls.

HAVE A SHOWER!! Tell people to just bring diapers, have people give to baby’s college fund, and/or have people bring things to donate to a pregnancy center or women’s shelter. There are options when it comes to the gifts aspect! I’ve been to showers for people’s 4th kid and I was just happy to be there celebrating them and the baby even though they didn’t really “need” anything. My son has plenty of toys and his Birthday is 4 days after Christmas but we’re still throwing him a Birthday party Not everything has to be practical. Some things are just because they make you happy!

Congrats on your sweet baby boy #2! I will say from experience that when you have the second child, no matter what your first is, if it’s the same gender as your first - the reactions can be lackluster. I think it’s human nature to “root” for the opposite gender for baby #2. So try not to take it too personally. Absolutely no one cared when I announced my second girl. But I am currently preg with #3, a boy, and people are OVER THE MOON for me. It’s well intentioned excitement, but it did sting a little when no one cared about poor baby girl #2 😜😜

We just did sneakpeek at 6.5 weeks and it was a boy and I am still VERY skeptical 🫤 I had to do it at a hotel on vacation and it all looked cleaned but who knows! We REALLY want a boy! We have 3 beautiful wonderful daughters, but have always wanted a boy, Here's to hoping 💙

I didn't get to have a shower either due to Covid but maybe have a Sprinkle where you can get together to celebrate you and baby. Congratulations!!

I’m in the same boat where I don’t need anything so we are having a bless the nest party to help prepare our home and fill it with love for baby 2 and help keep away the loneliness and ppd I felt so deeply due to the pandemic with baby 1. Do something to celebrate this life. A shower, a diaper party, a bless the nest, just something. We deserve it since we didn’t get it the first go around 💗

Have a baby shower anyway!!! You can request Target gift cards and diapers or no gifts if you really want. The shower is such a nice time to come together, play the silly games and bond with people you’re close to. You don’t need to need things to have a baby shower

I have 2 girls and am now pregnant with a boy. I had that nervous feeling that people would have less excitement if my 3rd was a girl as well although I was super happy with the idea of a girl gang. I do think people, particularly the in laws, have been much more excited about having a boy this time but it's all a bit ridiculous really.

I can say that people were excited when I had my son, but more excited when I had my daughter. I thought it was weird honestly, like they are both just as important no matter there gender. But have a little family get together or something to celebrate baby, it doesn’t have to be about gifts but you should definitely experience something this time around!
