The day after I did this meditation I felt absolutely present. My colleagues even reacted differently to me & seemed to feel the shift too, wanting to interact on a deeper level rather than superficial work-talk. Talk about powerful. Thank you so much.

I wasn’t able to cry about the death of my aging father because we had a conflicting realationship. And a month after settling his estate I been feeling sluggish moving forward even though I was in a good place to do so. Yesterday, someone flaked out on me and I felt abandoned. With this meditation, I was able to experience my sadness, have tears come out of my eyes, and had a memory of my father picking me up from the airport, when I visited them. I feel now loved and supported, and feel more motivated. Thank you!!

Sorry, only saw this comment now. So glad this worked for you and allowed you to find your grief for your father in a positive way, and the power of a memory. It is so important to allow our tears of grieving, because right in there we also find our tears of joyful memory. Grieving is an alchemical process, bringing gold out of pain.

So glad. That is great to hear. And there are 20 other videos on the channel. If you start with the earliest one and work your way up, it's kind of a mini course, but it sounds like this one works perfectly for you. I hear that there have been some ads added by KZbin and I'm gonna try to figure out how to get them out of the middle of the meditations but maybe you have KZbin premium like I do and don't have to deal with those Interruptions.

@DrKathyMcGuire
@DrKathyMcGuire 11 ай бұрын
Hi there. You can go to my website at www.cefocusing.com and go to the free store, and then click on articles and scan through them, and find some of them that have titles that include "tears." And "Jungian." You'll find some there. The major one on the more feminine side of Focusing as relational rather than Focusing Alone is in the first volume of the compendium of articles, on focusing by many people called "senses of Focusing." By Eurasia press. It is on Amazon and if you purchase both volumes together, you save on shipping, but it is pricey. Look through the titles of these KZbin videos and find one on passive listening and one on active listening where Edwin Rutsch and I take turns on that topic. In general, I feel like I have spent my career standing up for the feminine side of Focusing, while Gendlin went more into the philosophical and "thinking at the edge" aspect. In general, I am in line with the Young and definitions of the feminine as more right brain, intuitive, making decisions based upon a moral valuing, a felt sense of right and wrong , and masculine more left brain logical, making decisions based upon ethical rules... but more importantly, I see the feminine as circle, oriented, egalitarian, collaborative, cooperative, versus a more masculine tendency to hierarchy, and sorting out the pecking order competitive. That's all I can think to say in this small space. Thank you for your interest.

@@DrKathyMcGuire hello Dr. Kathy, i am happy to hear from you. Hopefully you are good. Thank you for your time and shared knowledge. I am intrigued. I saw in your website that your main interest is in balancing the right ans and left brain hemispheres and that's why I asked my question. Excuse me, is focusing as you demonstrated in this beautiful exercise is the same as how one connects with their soul?
@DrKathyMcGuire
@DrKathyMcGuire 11 ай бұрын
@@AKHZ you certainly could think of it as your soul, if you think of your soul as the center of you, the most open and honest and authentic part of you. Gendlin tried to stay away from spiritual terms, because he wanted to show that Focusing could apply to anything, including a business decision or an interpersonal conflict…. but there are others, like Jesuit fathers, Pete Campbell, and Ed McMahon, who created Biospiritual Focusing, who added a more spiritual dimension. www. biospiritual.org , I think

@DrKathyMcGuire
@DrKathyMcGuire Ай бұрын
@@VS04 I am so sorry those ads are there and I have no control over them. KZbin changed its policy so they can put ads anywhere they want. I would have to become a formal KZbin partner and getting paid for ads, but I'll never have enough new videos to qualify for that because I'm almost 80 years old and retired. If I did qualify for that I would be able possibly to move them to the beginning or the end but right now and unfortunately forever I guess, I have no power to change anything and I am not making a single penny off of them. It is horrible to have your experience and my work interrupted in this way. Only thing to do is if you decide the 21 videos as a course are worth it, you could get KZbin premium for a couple of months and you wouldn't have any ads. Less than $20 a month...

No, I did not choose to have these ads and I'm not making any money on them. KZbin changed their policy and now they can pop ads anywhere they want. And yes, they are very jarring. I guess they want you to buy KZbin premium where you don't have any ads. It is about the cost of an old-fashioned CD a month and I do listen to endless classical music on it without any ads. And besides, I can look up many how-tos! I would have to become a major player with thousands of views a month and posting all kinds of new videos and I'm 78 years old and not gonna manage that! Even then, I only might be able to get the ad pushed to the beginning or the end. I am so sorry for the jarring intrusion and wish I could control it

Not sure you're saying that my exercise is a masterpiece or that you discovered in your own use of it that something you had done was not a mistake but a masterpiece… Or something else! @DrKathyMcGuire
@DrKathyMcGuire 3 ай бұрын
I am very upset about those ads. I did not put them in and I'm not making any revenue from them. And I cannot get them removed. KZbin changed its policy I think in November 2023 so they can add ads anywhere they want. I'm 78 years old and technology is not my strength but I thought I could become a KZbin creator and then decide that the ads would at least be at the end but no, I'll never qualify for that. You have to have lots of subscribers, etc., etc., so I'm very sad about these ads in the middle of meditations. If you are getting a lot of value and are watching a lot of my 21 KZbins on this topic, it might be worth it to subscribe to KZbin premium for around $15 a month for a couple months so you can treat it like you are taking a class or a workshop or something that would be worth paying for . sorry! Sorry! Not in my control

Yes, KZbin has added those even though I am not a monetizing partner and don't get any money off of them. They changed their policy and they just add them. The only thing I could do about it is become a monetizing partner and then maybe I can request that they put the ads at the beginning instead of in the middle… But I'm 77 years old and retired and I just moved and I don't think I'm gonna get to that what I have done in my own personal life is bought into KZbin premium so that I don't get ads in the middle of my classical music! I figure it costs about the equivalent of buying one cd per month back in the olden days!
