I think this is probably one of Gene's very best films and while the Cinecolor process has its problems, it would be wonderful if this and some of Gene's other best films got the Blu-Ray treatment.

After my Uncle Johnny retired he went to work as an usher at Anaheim Stadium. He loved seeing the games, but was especially thrilled when he got to work in the area where Gene Autry would sit. I grew up watching Gene. Loved hearing this song. Really glad I found your channel. I wish my Uncle was still around to share it with.

Check out the Michael Martin Murphy version. It has all the verses but no chorus because that wasn't in the original poem from which the song was taken. (BTW - I really love the chorus.)
