One of the great, long-lost Gene Clark songs, "Los Angeles" was recorded for an early-1968 solo project that went unreleased before finally surfacing on the fine U.K. anthology Flying High.
A simple three-chord melody is the basis for Clark's kiss-off to the city. It's a bittersweet reflection of city life, something that the Midwestern-born Clark always wrestled with.
One of my favorite Gene tunes - his post-Byrds career is sadly overlooked.
