I remember my retired WW II vet father getting a kick out of Gene the dancing machine, and the bordering on X rated (now PG 13 by today’s standards) Jaye P Morgan. That was family entertainment back in the day. A crazy hyper talent show that brought us singer Cheryl Lynn, later famous for “Got to Be Real”, and the Unknown Comic. But we all watched for Gene. Great times; good times. Thank you Gene and family!

This is my favorite segment of any show in the history of television. It's completely out of the blue, it makes no sense, but it's marvelous. Who thought of that? "How about in the middle of the whole show, we have some guy come out and dance for like two minutes to fill up time." So great. I want to hug this man.

I have thought of this sketch my whole life. Every few years I would after the internet and then YT came on line, I would watch these every now and then. This was a great sketch and will never be forgotten as long as I live. When we have family get togethers and we start clowning around with dance moves, I would yell out "Gene, Gene, the Dancing Machine!" I just saw that he passed in 2006 and here it is 2021. I hope he knew what an impact he had on TV history. Classic.
