Only 7 comments on this performance!!!??!?!!? I’m speechless. One of, if not the greatest pianists of all time doing one of, if not the greatest versions of BH of the R. 😢

some of the best never get their due, that's for sure. I just heard his daughter, Nikki Harris, at East Lansing Jazz Festival.

Wow, so funky! I love the way he stays accessible. You don't get exhausted trying to follow obscure rhythms and hidden bar lines, as happens so often in the jazz world.

Gene was my friend. I learned a lot from him. I'll share this one with you from Mr. Harris. On the topic of playing in public,(not performing...too much pressure), " Only play what you play well"! Gene Harris 1980. My name is Clancy . Trumpet. Boise Idaho. The two years I spent Tuesday night Jam sessions at Peter Schott's ,Idanha Hotel were so much fun .Classy gentleman he was and I haven't seen one like him since. Until we meet again !

in the same way as Oscar Peterson, Monty Alexander, Ray Bryant, Gene Harris will be one of those great pianists who made me love jazz so much. He will remain among the best of the best.

@@claudiarovan9276 concordo, ma il soul di Gene sembra avere radici più profonde e nere...
