@archangel56274 жыл бұрын
David Nissim I’ve been blessed to see the current line up of Testament with Gene Hoglan and Steve Di Giorgio three times during the Dark Roots of the Earth tour and the Brotherhood of the Snake tour and they really are the sickest rhythm section! The physical wall of sound and feel that Steve Di Giorgio emits with his bass combined with Gene Hoglan’s absolutely amazing technical and groove oriented style of playing, is something to experience live. You physically feel the music! Eric Peterson and Alex Skolnick shred it as usual with their guitar playing! And of course Chuck Billy’s vocals are just as good if not better live and that’s super important because most bands fall short in that category when preforming. I just hope that this coronavirus nonsense blows over soon so I can see Testament in concert again especially considering how epic and badass their new album is! But to circle back to Testament’s rhythm section, I just can’t say enough good things about Di Giorgio And Hoglan. They truly compliment each other’s playing and they both know their roles in the composition of the songs. Together they add so much depth and skill to the band and when you see and experience them playing live, you can’t help but know that you have witnessed something special! They don’t call both of those guys The Rhythm Section Of The Apocalypse for nothing!

03:20 - 03:25 Here ladies and gentlemen we can witness the fact that Gene Hoglan is not into backstabbing.... he def, did not want to laugh with Steve when he backstabbed Chuck (you know the deceased genius) but was torn between two places. Gene Hoglan is a loyal man. I met him, talked to him, shook his hand in Holland Amsterdam during the Mechanized tour of FF. What do you think,.... did Gene say anything to Steve about what he did ?
@filipnezak20844 жыл бұрын
I don't know if Gene said anything to Steve afterwards, but it definitely looked like Gene didn't wanna laugh. But yeah, I didn't like what Steve said either. It was a cruel joke in my opinion. But I stil think Steve is great dude, it's just in this case he didn't think before he said that, so it came out as a cruel joke. In my country we have an old saing which goes "He's tongue was faster than his brain", it sounds better in my native language.
@patrickvangelder17844 жыл бұрын
@@filipnezak2084 Good you sort of see what i saw. I feel Steve has had this feeling about Chuck for a looooong time. He even said they (the musicians who played with Chuck) at last got recognition with the Death To All tour. Steve can be a great guy, who knows....... but this thing is not o.k.
@filipnezak20844 жыл бұрын
@@patrickvangelder1784 Yes, it's definitely not o.k. And I don't know why he said "at last we got recognition", what in the hell is that supposed to mean? Because every musician who played in Death and I mean every, has left a wonderful mark in music with their instruments and Chuck Schuldiner never, never, never said anything negative about his musicians. So I don't know what that line is supposed to mean?
@jaded92344 жыл бұрын
You can tell that Gene was caught off guard, but that probably had more to do with him saying it with the camera being there. Anyone who knows how close these guys were know that it wasn't a big deal. When one sees how the situation was for the leading up to Chuck's final days , it's easy to tell that they didn't have the kind of weak friendships that would be affected by that. It especially puts into perspective how insignificant a comment like that would seem to them. You often heard gallows humor come from war veterans and trauma survivors for a reason and it wasn't because they didn't care about what they were talking about.
