The supporting actor...Lee Marvin, makes this a CLASSIC!!! Big names John Wayne and Jimmy Stewart, but its Lee Marvin who sets the tone and flavor for this intense western. I recommend it even to "non" western movie enthusiasts. It has all the elements of a great dramatic movie; love, fear, values, irony, hatred, sacrifice and lost love. I watch it and marvel that Hollywood got it right so many years ago. Now the public is blinded by the "F Bombs" and computer animations.

I also enjoyed, years ago, gunfighter ballads by "Marty Robbins". Including the famous song.."El Paso". Peace to you sir.
