We have to thank the arrival of You Tube A Gene Vincent fan from way back Never realised he sang such great ballads as are appearing on You Tube His range from My Favourite Dance in the Street to these Ballads is incredible But the strangest thing of All is he never had a No.1 Not even in Top Ten in UK Highest he ever achieved was No.15 Why ??? I dont know or care. He Was Unique As was Elvis ; Roy Orbison Long Live Rock n Roll / Rockabilly The First & Forever TeddyBoy

Could not agree more 1950sTeddyboy. I have seen this man bring a wild audience to a hush with these ballads. Tell me of one modern Rock singer who can sing a ballad as good as that.

Best song from this 1970 sessions, because this is the closer it gets to good old Capitol days!

Gene ,in my opinion ,could sing ANY ballad on Parr with Sam Cooke! Reduced to tears by the pain in that sad, beautiful, Virginia whisper !! Awesome, a true legend ,much missed RIP EUGENE VINCENT CRADDOCK X

In my opinion, Gene Vincent was second only to Elvis in the 1950s. He was a very good entertainer and a very good man. Unfortunately, he was also an alcoholic. He should have gotten help. He left us way too soon. May he rest in peace.

LOVE THIS SONG! Gene's is not the best version, however. That would be by Mr. Nat 'King' Cole! Nice to hear Gene do it-I was not aware that he had. A tribute to his good taste. (Decent version by Otis Rush. Would have been great to hear the composer, Brook Benton, sing it-what a voice!)
