I saw him in concert at the Tupperware Auditorium in Orlando, FL back in the late 1970's... I got his autograph and still have it. I had every LP he ever made until CD's made the scene.

That must have been a clean living man. Most singers the age he was here can't sing that smoothly.

I think the man just gets better with age. I just wish one of my songs was suited for a man of his talents, but I can’t seem to single one out.

"THIS" is -for me, humble guitar payer since 1961...ands still- the nicest/good played version I ever heard. Thanks for post. My guitar hereos are Jimmy Capps, Grady Martin,, Harold Bradley.

My hero is Stevie Ray Vaughan, the greatest master guitar player ever. I know of no other player to use 13 gauge strings and play them like they were #8. Chet Atkins once said "Every time I pick up my guitar, I learn something new". That to me, is not a TRUE master, if you are still learning you have not mastered your craft. I love the "Old" country music, born and raised on it and I'm 70, so I have heard it all.

Bobby Wilhelm I disagree. A true master will admit that there is always something new to learn.
