The Smiths, the best band of 80's. Gene, the best band of 90's. Since the pandemic I have listened to their records again and they have helped me get through the bad times, but I was overwhelmed by a bittersweet feeling because one of the best lumps in the history of British rock as GENE, deserved massive commercial success. Why is the British music industry so cruel?

One of those rare bands that sound very similar live to what they commit to record. Are Gene indie Rock, Mod, or all of the above. I've seen them a few times at Reading 95 was epic. Steve Mason is a magical guitarist

I was there in 1995! It was spectacular. That, along with Carter the Unstoppable Sex Machine the following night, were 2 of the best gigs I have ever seen in my life. I'm 52 years old now!

Hasn't disappeared, just more difficult to find. Martin has recent stuff on his personal channel, as does Brett Anderson from Suede. Ivri Lider, Lola Marsh (band), There are others too.
