I have the 22k now 6 years, red light, it was the butterfly switch the allows the starting, took 3 weeks to get the replacement in the middle of winter !

Hi. I just had a brand new 22kw generac installed and a new 500 lb propane tank. my question is my first start up it just cranks. is there a bleed time for the propane to get to the motor? I tried cranking it 2 times with by pressing the manual button. Thanks. Frank.

Hi Frank, depends on how long the gas line is and the diameter of the pipe. Regardless, you should bleed the line at the union of the supplied stainless steel braided flex hose. Bleed it until you smell gas... careful when doing this... no smoking or any source of ignition should be off (ac units or pool heater). Once the line is bled it should start after a little cranking. Typically within the first two crank sequences. As always, be careful when handling fuel and fuel lines.

Sorry Ronald, did you check all your customer/installer connections? N1,N2,T1 - 194,23,0 make sure they are all landed at the correct locations. Also, confirm the factory wiring harness is connected correctly and didn’t come loose in transit.

Did the message say “inspect battery” or “low battery voltage”? Either way, press OFF, ENTER, AUTO. make sure your battery connections are tight and the 7.5A fuse is in correctly.

How do you clear a 1300 low oil press. Unit is 4 yrs old...8--10 hrs. Total Running time... change plugs,oil&filter every6 mo....?

Sorry for the late reply. Confirm you have proper oil pressure first. If the issue continues you have a bad oil pressure switch. What size unit?

Sounds good If you end up having to replace the switch, use part number 0L2917C - its the same parameters as the one from the factory however its metal housing is stronger and the opening is larger which helps with emulsification of the oil.

Hello mine had a error code for too much cranking, i did a tune up, plug was shot, cleared the fault. When I hit auto it started right up but kept running for 20 minutes, so I shut it off(utility power was working). I reset the transfer switch but problem still persists. Any ideas?

Sorry for the late reply, you should check your fuel supply (volume and pressure), valve lash and spark. Make sure your getting clean consistent spark.

Hi Matthew, check the fuses in the transfer switch. N1,n2 and t1 fuse are sensitive and can blow which will cause the unit to run when utility power is present.

Possible problem is you turned off the breaker on the side of the generator (for safety). If it doesn’t see the voltage from the generator, it can’t throw the transfer switch.

Hey buddy, I've got a 5 yr old generac 48k with the same controller as this video. It's giving me a CANBUS error #2671. I've checked the 2 fuses and the battery. Battery was very low but recharged and held charge. But the error code will not clear. Any suggestions?

Hi Mike, The battery wouldn't cause the problem but it could give you an RPM Sense Loss Error when you try to crank the unit. If you followed the steps to clear the error and it keeps reappearing then I would check all your wiring. Make sure mice haven't chewed through anything. Also, confirm all your connections are tight and sound. sometimes we've seen the pins inside some of the Molex plugs come loose and lose connection. You'll need to move the wires around and all connection points to check if the pins are loose. Lastly, check your ignition wires ... make sure they are all sound. If you send me your serial number we could check if there are any service bulletins on your unit.

@@ipowergenerators4200 thank you for replying. It wasn't that the code would keep coming back. It wouldn't clear out. I decided to go with the old "unplug it and plug it back in method" disconnected all the wire plugs from the back of the controller, waited a few minutes, plugged them all back in. This got the code to go away, but when I tried to start the unit a different code (ignition fault #2600) popped up. This one would clear but came back at every start attempt. I found something online about a boot up sequence for the controller so I figured out which plug (2 of them) provide power to the controller and made sure to plug them in last. It started right up a couple times, then I let it run for 30 minutes to make sure. No codes, seems to be okay now. I know there is a problem looming in there somewhere, but it can wait till I have a little more money and time to mess with it. Thanks again, and I hope this helps other people too.

Sometimes, the hood old turn it off and on works best. Chances are there was a wire or molex plug that wasn’t connected 100%. Glad it worked out. Please let us know if you need anything.

What does the number followed by the (H) mean?

Thats the number of hours .... the display usually has the number of "hours protected". It doesn't really mean anything. The run time hours is important, you should keep track of that for your maintenance. Run Time is the same as saying miles on your cars Odometer. Hope this helps.

Primero checka la computadora adrentro de la maccina y si dice "ready to run" esta bien pero si tiene un codigo como "overcrank, overspeed, rpm sense loss" o algo mas tiene un codigo que significa que el motor no pudo arrancar. Trata appretar "enter" 2 veses y ponlo en manual y ve si prende. Aveses las maccinas ponen codigos falso por el frio o algo. Si todo funciona ponlo otra vez en "Auto".

@@giovannireyes8545 estoy checando que el propano marca el tanque que esta vacío. Creo que por eso prende la luz roja del generador esque como esta feo el clima no e salido a checar el generador pero el tanque si lo cheque . La pregunta es se puede dañar el generador si se quedo sin combustible? Y si si que debo aser ? Lo tengo que apagar de la caja de fusibles o lo tengo que apagar afuera en el generador? Gracias espero y me lea

@@giovannireyes8545 pero si lo apago tendrá que ser ahí en el generador o solo bajando las pastillas en la caja. Y también al apagarlo esto matará la batería debido a las bajas temperaturas?
