A general contractor can enter a prime or subcontract for a single trade, but if the job does not consists of framing or carpentry, then the job cannot be self performed, and must be subcontracted to a contractor that holds the appropriate classification. 🤙

Hi Matthew it is correct that a general contractor can perform a single trade as long as it’s framing or carpentry, anything else must either be two or more unrelated trades or be subcontracted 👷🏽‍♂️

My dad has a B license, I don't have four years experience within the past 10 years. Does that mean I don't qualify?

Question. I've been installing doors and windows for over 5 years and a fabricator for 3. I have an osha 10 as well. I've been working for companies but I haven't personally done drywall, plumbing or electrical. Does that mean I cannot get the license or because I worked for a contracting company I'm good to take the test? Or do I have to get another job like an electrician to qualify

Correct that’s a standard part of the application, if they are willing to sign off they can.

What if you specialize in demolition but want to become a general contractor, should i get the c21 or the general? since demolition involves in all remolding and new construction?

Get your C-21 first. I always recommend to get your strength first then add the General contractor license later on IF you need it. If you are not planning on doing anything mentioned in the video the GENERAL B license is not for you.

@@jonathanjimenez7373 the only way you can is if it involves two or more trades, demolition is one, you would have to have an additional trade in the contract in order to take it then sub the demo part off. You can email me at [e-mail]

Amigo cuando pasas tu examen de licencia contratista necesitas tener todas Tus aseguranzas para q la puedas recibir y cuanto tiempo tarda el proceso

Solo tienes que tener el contractors bond para activar la licencia de haces las cosas bien y como deben de hacer. Lo más rápido que puedes obtener tu licencia es 3-4 meses
