One of the greatest to ever do it without the self-proclomations. His lyrics were invariably witty and often humorous. Big up yourself every time, General Degree.

Degree the one only .. this man is one of the most humble soul. When I see these things it make me think what is jamaican government doing towards having a national hall of fame to represent local culture in its entirety . From the poets to the visual arts personnels and musicians for the different musical genres that comes from this rock of great talent that is beyond the world wildest dreams. Jamaican music have influence or impact every other musical genres and local culture In the world one way or the other sometime it's the production the artists are just samples of particular sounds the jamaican brand is in their dna . General Degree is my favourite artist out of Jamaica and this was so refreshing to listen to him talk about how he came through. The stand out for me was him introducing Garnet to Steely and Clevie aswell as him being offered Old Dog and New Suzuki to dj them. I once heard that Buccaneer’s opera style was kinda influenced by Granny because Degree liked to sound like 2 artists in one song but it’s safe to say Buccaneer took it to another level by adding the opera sound. All the same large up to the interview and big thanks!🙏

You're exactly right. That 'Dolly House' by Spragga Benz was prompted by Degree's song on the Dugu Dugu Riddim where he made reference to Spragga's girl named Tete. The particular reference in the song goes something like, 🎶 'Spragga have a girl and dem call her Tete. She and him can't left, so people say. But any time mi see her mi a ten her weh, no care how long she and him waah fi deh' 🎶. Only proper 90's dancehall students will have these sort of recollections.

Great artiste, however the host is a very incompetent journalist, thts if he is one, reason being, if you did a research bfre sn interview, you are suppose to be able to remind the dj of certain things he dont remember, it takes so much away from the interview when the artiste cant remember certain songs and the interviewer cant back him up, muscle head, ur trying but if u wna be different or outstanding you have to do in depth research and have your pointer cards to assist the person you're interviewing and to also make youre viewers get the full story...never ever say your mind is blank during an interview, you fall very short in this podcast..
