Thanks to Frank Bruno for speaking out against psych drugs!! We really need more people to see how harmful it is, and be brave enough to speak against it. Just speaking against it can make people threaten you with more "mental health." #PsychVictims

I appreciate your concern BUT yours is the voice of fear driven ignorance. Drugs when used properly have saved so much distress. Would you elect not to have a flu, covid or polio jab. Drugs as part of a regime can and do help with mental health. Unless you are with Trump when only orange hair colour can do the trick.

I came off medication earlier on this year and, I found that you come out of depression the same way you go into it. Slowly but surely and with the guidance of my doctor I reduced the dosage until I finally stopped. Then came the mood swings-ok one minute and tearful the next. The reason I was on medication in the first place was depression caused by situations of which are now over. Looking back, medication was really a waste of time-far better to enter psychotherapy and address problems directly than medicate.

Look, the right med and dose is vital. I have had enough experience in my family to know that without some meds ( the correct meds and doses ) things would be terrible and unmanageable for some folks. There are some amazing things meds’ can achieve. Stay open minded ( I am also a qualified complementary therapist and we know the power of conventional meds too ) They drug you up too much to start with because a person is so manic or paranoid. The dosage lowers as things stabilise. Dosage must be managed and family must be paramount in noticing how sluggish someone is. I do think in adult hospitals it’s less therapy based and more a mission to stabilise and send you home. It’s just so unfair for so many people to suffer this badly with mental health issues. No matter what, people need to be heard and listened to. X

I agree 500% I got diagnosed with bio polar in 2007 and got the right medication from consultant the 1st time he hit the nail on the head I have met about 15 who tried my mediation in the past and it wipes them out my mate Joe never received the right mediation for 9yrs until he went to prison I am on the strogest mediction for my bio polar and am on the highest dosage they give out I still have highs which I know how to control but I don't get lows so all good I spoke to my doctor about 1yr ago and said about no lows for a considerable amount of time but my doctor asked me if I was suffering any side effect I said no so she told if I stop taking my meds I might hit rock bottom again mentally and it may take months for me to stabilise again so I accepted. I will be taking my meds for life its better than the other option 500%it can be very dangerous to stop taking you meds may thts hy Bruno keeps getting sectioned but who am I to judge him it works for and I have a Good network being m fily ex wife annd daughtr they warn me I m playing up or raining lol 😂

People should listen to him. If you look now in the world it relates to the pharma drugs in bulk from China, that has grown men and woman helpless hopeless often homeless roaming streets behind the dependency caused that is literally in towns big or small to everywhere around the globe like fentanyl. imagine if you desired to get treated but afterwhile all you end up with is yet another tough challenge/problem when the drug begins to hurt more than help.

For anyone on these medications, there is a way to wean off to a lower dose or stop completely with your doctor's help.Don't underestimate how many lives these medications have saved, including my own.Yes they can make you feel like shit but ultimately it can be the only way.Its not always forever.Frank is right about talking therapies and exercise however.

@Pulsonar
@Pulsonar 2 жыл бұрын
Denial? I didn’t pick up on that at all. The only thing I notice is that he’s not laughing as much as when he’s talking to a fellow boxer or people from that community. Frank is talking very personally about a taboo that very few famous people have ever spoken about. What is there to critique here? IMO he comes across absolutely fantastic and honest about a hard cringey topic, he is the man.
@snowblo1

@@Pulsonar Yeah, this has been awhile & I had honestly forgotten all about this clip. I would have to go back and watch it again to answer your question, which I don't really want to right now. Sorry. And as far as, "what's to critique?" Oh please, KZbinrs are so freaking weird. Always getting their panties in a bunch over other's opinions. Give it a rest. I'm sure I didn't anything derogatory about him at all. He's a decent fella. Now go on and try to have a decent weekend.

@@snowblo1 I read the first half and thought decent reply, let’s give a thumbs up decent, mature and honest…. Then I pressed ‘read more’ … good Lord! Why did you rant like that about ‘KZbinrs knickers in twist etc…’ ? Totally unnecessary. I only meant with those few words that there was nothing to criticise. Honestly, face to face this would have been nothing more than a passing clash of opinion over in 10 seconds. You are a KZbinr yourself, so don’t bash yourself so harshly, let’s shake over an imaginary pint and wish each other well, cheers 🍻

it's because you were sectioned 3 times Frank, that's why your dosage was high. That probably means it's pretty serious so the risk is, overdose you and leave you a bit drowsy or underdose you and then you end up jumping off a building, I know which scenario is worse. Frank, you shouldn't be condoning people to stop seeking treatment. Not everyone makes it through mental illness but a lot more than there used to be make it now.
