General Electric NE34 Neon Bulb Overview

This is the biggest neon light bulb I have ever seen. Neon used to be big business and these light bulbs even found their way into owns as night lights and indicator lights. Typically though, you’d find a bulb like this in something like an EXIT sign.

My parents house had this bulb that lit when you turned on the basement stairs light, this light was above the basement door. The house was built in the 20’s and this was original to the house. When they passed away and we sold the house, I took this bulb and now have it in my house for the light above my basement door which turns on when the basement stairs light is on. It’s how you know someone is in the basement. It’s a beautiful bulb and reminds me of my parents

I bought this exact bulb for 50 cents at a Habitat For Humanity store 2 years ago because it looked neat and I noticed it was hand blown. I put it away with the rest of my household bulbs and forgot about it until today and lit it up. Very cool bulb. I'm going to keep my eye open for more now. I have an orange one like yours and I now hope to find other colours. Thanks for the Video.
