I have a kenmore washer which runs for around 10 seconds and then trips. I noticed that the power cord gets hot. It spins when I need to drain the water and drains very well. Any idea?

Where is the capacitor for the original motor that was changed out as bad? Do those motors have their start/run capacitor internally?

No, the hydrowave washer is a different kind of washer

theapplianceman is it difficult to test the motor directly? I can’t seem to get my washer spin or agitate. Green light blinks 1 sec on and off (no codes), Lid switch tests ok via continuity test, no codes in service mode at the control panel, fusible link not blown, shifter coil tests ok via resistance, I replaced the motor with a known good used one, I checked for 120VAC at the motor side harness and that checks ok. I think I checked everything and it still does not work.

These machine are a piece of garbage You cant even try the motor like a regular dryer. I am sorry but I don't have much on that type of washer.

Do you know how to test a different GE top load washer motor? I have 5 wires, orange, red, yellow, black, blue. it looks to be a pretty common motor

Which wires to check for ground fault? I have a washer that trips my GFCI circuit but when plugged into a regular non gfci circuit it runs fine.

My schematic has a capacitor at M7, and unless it is included in the test circuit the motor will not start and the test cable will not work.
