Totally agree. People state that the mob has been around since Frank Smith and they are right.The show though made it a point that the hospital was the focus and the other stories were just an added feature. However if you go watch the Frank Smith story Frank was using various businesses around PC to make himself look legit. General Hospital being the big one. Trying to buy his seat(and it worked for awhile) on the board and using Lee's law firm as well. When he was caught Steve Hardy didn't want his kind associated with GH. When that was over The Cassidines tried to use GH as a way to get in good with the Ice Princess tale. When that ended the oil scam story that introduced Emma Saams as Holly Sutton. Using everyone at GH to invest in something that didn't exist. Oil in Port Charles. When she was found out Robert and Luke went to find her because it was their fault that the hospital got involved in the first place and many invested on their advice. When that was over it was the introduction of Grant Putnam/Andrews . The ortho doctor at GH who turned out to be a DVX spy and using GH and the Q's as apart of his cover. I could go on and on but throughout the 80's into the early 90's the hospital was always the focus. Today's GH makes Sonny the Don of Port Charles look like a philanthropist and it is okay and the hospital is now secondary to his endless mob tales. The show should promote Sonny as a villain. He isn't supposed to be a character to be adored and admired. It is the good guys who are portrayed as the villains and that is wrong and then they wonder why the audience is tuning out. First it was Scotty to be thrown under the bus for Luke to be the hero all because he caught on even though he raped Laura. What made it worse it was okay for Laura to fall in love with him. That is why I never have bought into the Luke and Laura hype. Then when Sonny came along AJ was the one to be thrown under repeatedly by both Sonny and Carly. AJ should have been a character when he came back in 2012 to have a power base and a legit one and did it without the Quartermaines'(meaning Edward)influence to go toe to toe with Sonny an knock Sonny and Carly off the high horse they built for themselves and selling it to Michael. but no. Why? Because the show always has to make Sonny(along with Carly, Jason and Sam) the star! That just the way it is and then they wonder why the struggle ratings wise. At some point you have to come up with something fresh which equals change and the mob along Sonny has been played out. After awhile even the adventure tales with the WSB gang became stale which morphed into another great era of GH which was BJ/Maxie's heart,Stone's AIDS along with Robin's HIV status and Monica's breast cancer I truly believe the show lost its way to the point of no return was clear back in 2002 when the show made the bonehead decision to make Rick Webber a murderer and have Scotty murder him By far the worst storyline to ever come out of GH because it ruined so much long time history. I've come to the conclusion that people who do root for Sonny and Carly and the mob mentality because they do not watch the show in its heyday when characters and stories were layered and what was always known the hospital would always remain strong. Frankly because it is all they know. I still watch because I love the vets but the new characters do not hold my interest simply because they are given sub par material and their characters are poorly fleshed out.

I've been watching a bunch of Romabriere's 1977 GH playlist, and literally the things Lesley said Monica did to her, I just watched. So, some history was honored by referring to incidents that happened in 1977. But, Lesley and Monica eventually had an uneasy resolution to their bickering by the time Laura and Luke were married. I'd say the only reason they were battling here was it made for some good humor. "Slow your roll" - that had me laughing!

Leslie and Denise have remained friends after all these years, and I recall an interview where Leslie told Denise back in 1980 to really give her a good slap which Denise did. That scene is now a part of GH legend, and when they reconcile the characters, they focus on that, not the fact that Lesley and Monica buried the hatchet years ago. Monica was very upset when Leslie was allegedly killed in the car accident, and I wish they would just have a scene together where they admit that the snark that they have is more about insecurities than reality. It's touched on here briefly but you have to really dig to hear it.

By the time Lesley allegedly passed Monica and Lesley had developed at least somewhat of a friendship. I think the writers should have allowed Rick and Lesley to reunite and if Denise Alexander wasn't going to stay have them be happy elsewhere. Plus if you look at the way this scene ended, Monica and Lesley were back to where they were when Lesley allegedly passed.

The people who write for the show nowadays probably never saw the first 30 years of the show and they do not writewith that in mind, so there you have it. I think this is why soaps are dying have gone on because they don't have the greatest writers they're too young and they cannot identify with the history of a show.. they always have to rewrite something for younger audience while forgetting it was the older audience that made the show that's my take on it..

"Lester" is Leslie C's nickname. And to my knowledge Lesley Webber was NEVER called that...only "Les". But I guess the writers just plain forgot that Monica and Lesley were not enemies when Lesley "died" back in 1984. Oh, they forgot that a LONG time ago. When Lesley was found alive in 1996, the writers had completely forgotten that she was married to Rick when she died! They weren't shown onscreen together for another 6 years (and let's not even get into what they did to Rick Webber in 2002). Back when she first came back and was barely talking still, Lesley referred to Monica (to a teenaged Lucky) as a 'horse's ass'...so again, their friendship in 1984 had long been forgotten about by the time this scene happened in 2013.

MsTexas73 I was going to bring up the same thing. Lester is Leslie C.'s nickname and in particular the person who called her this was Stuart Damon, who played Alan. They seem to forget alot of things over the years, it's more because when one writer takes over they want to put their own spin on it. Its like when they age a child, the things that particular child has faced thus far are forgotten. I.e. Lesley Lu Spencer or Lulu had some sort of cancer and received a bone marrow transplant using Nicolas as the donor, but when Sam's son faced a bone marrow transplant, to my knowledge it was never mentioned and Alexis was Nik's Auntie you'd think it would at least have been brought up. All soaps are like that, its just almost like new writers read nothing of the shows history though. Just thought id say :)

First question: Where are their name badges to prove they are employed at the facility, Leslie's outfit has no credibility,after 30 years why go back to work? I recall when Scorpio was trying to get to the bottom of D L Brock's murder when everyone in America knew it was Ginny Blake, even Bobbi blamed her husband for Leslie's departure.

For the third question: I think Helena kidnapped Leslie when Laura was held prisoner by stavros. When Laura had Nikolas, she had found out Luke was still alive and she went to find him. She wanted to take Nikolas with her but Helena blocked her by taking Leslie. She "killed" Leslie and threatened to kill Laura if she tried to make contact with Nikolas. That came out in 96 when Nikolas first arrived in port Charles, however im not sure if they changed that storyline
