General Hospital: The Quartermaines Find Out About Emily & Sonny

This is around the time that I started watching GH on a regular basis after graduating high school and going through the first couple years of college. I haven't missed a single episode since. I miss Edward, Lila, Alan, Emily, and Alice so much! (The actress who played Alice passed away somewhat recently.)

Oh no! That's the good-looking Nikolas Cassadine that I watched on General Hospital I thought he was so HANDSOME! I have been going back and was just watching all the old General Hospital's videos on youtube especially those with Tyler Christopher. I thought he was so handsome, loved his character & loved him! Nik & Em were never as good as they were in 2003-2004 because Ty & Nat were falling in love and then in love at the same time and you could totally see it happening. Then they broke up for 6 months or so and that was when they paired Nik w Courtney. Then Ty & Nat got back together beginning of 2006 but Emily was picking up steam with Sonny and by the time that storyline ended Ty & Nat had broken up for good so we couldn’t quite recapture the glory days of Nik & Em because when they finally got back together at the end of 2006, Tyler was already engaged to his now wife and you could totally see the shift between Ty & Nat. They (obviously) didn’t kiss each other the same way they used to and they were written in a way that showed something had been lost between them. It’s sad. I wonder if Nik & Em would have played out the way they did if Ty & Nat had never broken up and even had gotten married. :::sigh:::

Maritza Ramirez I noticed the shift in their chemistry when they reunited in late 2006. And it was mostly on Tyler's end. Nat was able to cover a little better, but Tyler made it obvious there was a wall there. They were never able to recapture that magic from 2003/2004. Their chemistry was off the charts during that time. The best on the show next to LiRic. Shame. But if I'm understanding you correctly, they decided to do Nik and Courtney b/c Ty & Nat broke up that first time?

We can't forget about his old neighborhood Bensonhurst in Brooklyn, either.. there's probably a few more ladies & children that we haven't heard from/about yet 😂. Sonny is a father & grandfather.. with how many baby mamas? I lost count 😂. In the real world we'd call that being irresponsible, but in soap opera land he's a "stud" lol 😂. Apparently sex education or practicing safe sex isn't taught in Port Charles schools because nobody uses condoms or any other forms of birth control. Or they're just so caught up in the heat of the moment that they can't control themselves or it slips their mind or the condom was defective, lol. I'd hate to pay Sonny's child support.. but I'm sure being a mob boss (who never gets in trouble or caught 😂) he can afford it. Don't ya just love daytime TV 😂.. I love my Sonny Corrinthos ❤. I've been watching GH since before I can even remember with my mom. I'm almost 45.. so that's a long time, lol. The whole Emily/Sonny pairing was just gross to watch 🤮.. & just bad writing, in my honest opinion. I think it was the writers trying to keep Sonny as the irresistible, "hot" guy of the show. They thought pairing him with the younger characters/actresses would do that.. but they failed miserably, again my opinion. I guess my point is that someone can be older & still be attractive & have sex appeal. We're seeing this now on present day GH with Sonny, Carly, & Jason still being the top/main characters with the best storylines. Carly is still a beautiful/sexy woman.. & that character has to be in her mid 40s (at least)- early 50s. Jason is still VERY attractive & he's around the same age as Carly. Sonny is still an attractive, charming man & his character is probably in his 59s as well. Carly & Sonny are grandparents now. Jason has 2 teenage sons. These characters are still beautiful, attractive, & yes, "sexy" & they're not dating women in their 20s 🙄. It still blows my mind (& sickens me 🤮) that the writers chose to go this route. I mean, Sonny had known Emily since she was literally a CHILD. I've always wondered how the actors really felt about this particular storyline. I'm even more curious to know how awkward it was for Natalia Livingston & Maurice Benard to perform love scenes with each other, knowing the history of these characters. Or if it wasn't awkward at all.. just another day at work 😅. Either way, I'd love to hear their thoughts. Anyway, I apologize for rambling, I tend to get carried away when I talk about GH 😂. In my defense, this was probably the most cringe, disgusting storylines in GH history 🤮. Then again, the Luke & Laura storyline started off with a not so happy beginning & it turned out to be one of the greatest love stories/storylines in daytime TV history 🤔. So in the end, what do I know 🤷? I'm just a loyal viewer/fan. Maybe we're all just a tad bit too caught up, invested, or engrossed into our favorite shows to have an objective opinion.. just a bit 🤏😂. This storyline was definitely cringe worthy & tough to wrap my head around 🤮😂
