These figures were originally produced by BMC Toys as part of a boxed set offered by Toys-R-Us in the 90's. The smaller Esco figures are clones (copies). Figures that are copied are often a bit smaller than the original.

There is a General Lee HQs in Colonial Heights, Virginia across the Appomattox River from Petersburg. It was the HQs used by Lee during the Seige of Petersburg from the Summer of 1864 to the Spring of 1865. The building itself is an attractive small bungalow type house, quite modest for a Commander of an Army. General Grant's HQs of the same campaign in the City Point section of Hopewell, Virginia; at the convergence of the Appomattox and James Rivers, was also a modest structure considering the rank of it's main occupant. It was larger than the building used by Lee, but both houses were without ornament and ostentation in keeping with the serious nature of the problems and struggles that both men faced at that time.
