😂😂😂 at least the Fords drive to the dealership under their own power for the Recall. Can tell you’re a GM guy, because you can’t see that recalls aren’t a bad thing lol at least every other manufacturer admits they have an issue, comes up with a fix, and allows the consumer to come in for the fix, BEFORE it’s an issue. Unlike GM, that just sells absolute pieces of garbage, doesn’t issue a recall, so no fix, they just throw the same faulty parts in it again, so it can leave you stranded. @hochhaul28 күн бұрын
You must not buy newer Honda vehicles. They've been putting out a lot of trash in the last 10 years. That "Earth Dreams" engine was a big decline in quality and their transmissions are terrible. The 2nd Gen Ridgeline and Pilot have had a ton of problems with torque converter failures. When the new Ridgeline first came out and I looked into one because my father had considered one, I was watching reviews on youtube and noticed a bunch had accidentally overheated the transmission without even trying. I suspected that had to be a case of Honda under-engineering the trans cooler and thought that would be very hard on the fluid. It had me curious so I looked into Honda's maintenance recommendations for the new Ridgeline and they say to change the transmission fluid every 25k or 30k miles. No wonder they're cooking converters and valve bodies. Their overpriced LED headlights were complete garbage for many years. I remember there were even lawsuits over the headlights burning out just after warranty and Honda wanted $1200 per headlight, and the replacement headlights didn't last any longer. Honda's motorcycles and other small engine products are fantastic and super reliable. Their cars have been wildly overrated in terms of reliability/quality since 2008 or so. The 2008 was a major low point. That's when Civic engine blocks were cracking left and right, Civics and Accords were coming from the factory with some of the worst brake parts I have ever seen. They would literally burn through pads and rotors in 25k miles. The paint and clear coat they were using is still some of the worst I've seen in the last 20 years. The clear would cloud up and peel off in huge chunks after just a few years. The 1st gen Ridgeline had terrible rust issues. They don't design their "trucks' to handle the gravel thrown at the underbody and the unibody was poorly designed to handle road salt. They rust horribly if not sprayed with Fluid Film one or twice a year. I'm still amazed at how Honda was able to avoid most of the bad PR for their transmission failures. They have gone through many bouts of major transmission issues and it seems to fly under the radar because the boomers that buy them don't do any research, they just remember the rock solid reliable Hondas from the 90's and early 2000's.

For what they cost these modern vehicles are not very robust. If you fill the tank too full you can damage the emission control system. If you run the tank too low you risk overheating the fuel pump located in the tank. If you avoid those problems the fuel pump control module can at random decide to quick working. They were pretty proud of those, "With these we're able to maneuver vehicles in very tight spaces if they're not working'. I'm like, you are proud of the wrong stuff buddy. Me and my buddy got cars when we were doing a pretty sweet internship, in college. I got a $21k kia rio, 2022, used in 2023. He got a new $30k chevy SUV. Till Dec 2024, his car has been in the dealership thrice for water pumps, fuel pump and some issues with the brake system. Mine has been in dealer once, where the water pump actuator was dislodged because of a very nasty pothole, which surprisingly did not do any other damage to my car, wheels or the tires.

Does anyone know if the new fuel pump modules have been improved or are they just installing a new defective module of the exact same design ??

Interesting that you only bash GM in your videos. I noticed you also own a ford mustang as well. Definitely not a coincidence. GM is far from the worst I’d say in some cases they’re still great. I’ve owned and had experience with GM vehicles throughout my life, none have had to be towed or had major issues. As far as I’m concerned the only new truck to own is a 6.6 gas hd truck. The only truck you can get without cylinder deactivation, which isn’t limited to just GM btw, RAM uses it on their hd trucks and ford has had countless lifter failures on their Godzilla engines. Both GM and ford uses essentially the same 10 speeds in their hd trucks, which are decent transmissions.

Because GM is the only one that is regularly having recurring issues that make them die in potentially dangerous situations, have to be towed in, and can’t seem to come up with a fix. All of the big 3 American automakers have their issues, but GM is by far having the biggest issues. Everyone else is issuing recalls to get ahead of their known issues. GM just lets it become a problem, and deal with it when it gets towed in by throwing the same faulty parts in it.
@wesleygarrison62487 күн бұрын
@ GM has had a few recalls as of late, but when certain automakers have had to have recalls for countless engine failures, you have to ask yourself why are these problems arising in the first place? A simple fuel pump module is one thing, especially compared to other brands with powertrain failure. Also, GM sells the most trucks out of any manufacturer in the U.S., so if you’re going to get a few hiccups, that’s where you’ll find them.

my dad learned in the late 80's, he would buy ford and chevy and they would all have issues after like 3 years. he switched to Toyota and driven them like 20 years before trading them in for another toyota/honda. no major issues with toyota, except the alternators need to changed out after like 150K miles. 1994 toyota camry v6 - traded it in for a 2012 toyota rav4 V6 1999 toyota camry v6 - traded it in for a 2020 acura RDX aspec. 2008 lexus is250 - traded it in for 2023 toyota camry sport.

We're a GM family. My grandpa retired from them 25 years ago. He says they don't make em like they use to. I have a 2002 Chevy Blazer 4WD 4 door 4.3L. 180k. No issues besides regular maintenance. Don't plan on getting rid of it ever. Engine or transmission goes, easily get a rebuild or LS swap it.

I only buy low mileage gm older products. Anything after 2005 is a crapshoot. When the 3800 motor was discontinued was another reason to not buy anything they make. The day my friends GMC terrain with all of 800+ miles the engine light came on and soon thereafter every other light did. That was it. Oh and don't get me started on the 3.6 oil dilution motors.

Cool camera stuff. I know they’re not cheap. Also it’s obvious you know what you’re doing with the cameras. Too bad GM doesn’t no what they’re doing. And I really wanted another GMC 1500 Sierra Crew Cab. That’s all I drove from 1994 to 2023. Had 2 that ran perfect. A 5.7 & 5.3. No trouble with either one. 268k on 94 and 169k on a 08.

GM can't keep the fuel pump running? Can't shift into Neutral? Expensive paperweights 😂 Wonder if you can just bypass the FP module with a simple jumper Power and Ground 🤔

You can even jump start some of the GM caddilac SUV well as the computer don’t seem to cope with boosters or even normal jumping. While a Toyota and most other cars can cope, even with the push button types. On thing that seemed to start them was the AAA vehicle massive charging cables. Always use a battery maintainer with those vehicles or you’re screwed.
