I was disappointed when I was rejected for service due to my asthma. Owning our own business, we had CNN on all day at work during this war and did not miss a moment of it. I went to sleep watching coverage and woke up watching coverage. Kinda feel like this was the war of my generation and agree with those that stated it felt like we didn’t finish the war by leaving Saddam in power. @Coomer Nick Why are you getting worked up for? Gulf War one is over. Have you ever been a soldier being in a combat zone either voluntarily or just been there that you fucked up and joined the military? I knew many of those guys. The Clash made this during the 80s when I was still in high school before I joined the Army. Many anti-war songs became popular when combat began or when in progress. Songs are songs. Bands and singers are pure Capitalists but think they are Communists. Even Communist folks love money too as Capitalists. I'm sure you have bills to pay like everyone else too. If the band the Flash knew that this would be used as a song to promote combat. They should not have produced it in the first place and just stop making content like this. They should have made more love songs instead of provocative political songs like this. Don't you agree?

It also proved that victory on the battlefield did not equate to a strategic victory. Unfortunately it merely precipitated another extremely costly war with Iraq twelve years later.

America did not prove it could fight a comparable military force. This was a landslide victory against a technologically inferior opponent. If the U.S. ever goes up against Russia and/or China, it will definitely be a different story, and I realistically wonder what will happen to all that red white and blue chest thumping and bravado, once they start receiving bombs and missiles from the same distances as the Iraqi's did. There are too many unknowns and not enough practical evidence of anything, just like when armchair warriors who play too many video games start comparing modern MBT's, saying one is better than the other despite neither having ever been matched up with each other in actual combat.
