Why the mg42 gun operator is sitting behind the thing Shouldn’t he aim down sight like the standard procedure and aiming technique? And the longer you hold the trigger , the more recoil you get This is totally a misleading video for soldiers back then 😄 Us guns are the best can’t argue with that But disapproving others to get more credit is not noble 🤨

I wonder how many troops have seen this before they were deployed to WW2 ? I bet you every one that has seen it after a month of fighting was thinking that video was horse shit . Dam those Germans make good guns.. only the German ones are still used in war.

I am a former A-6 driver and I watch this video and can't understand for the life of me why they shelled the aircraft. They boltered, big deal, shit happens. That is why you go to full power as soon as your mains touch the deck. When they ran out of steel they had a positive rate of climb. As soon as I was clear of the angle I also reached down and brought the gear up if it felt iffy. This action may have resulted in a FNAEB

Granules and grains. The indivual bits of powder are called 'grains'. This leads to confusion as gunpowder (in the U. S.) are measured in 'grains', that being 7/7000th of a pound. However, each unit - bit - piece - of powder does NOT weigh one 'grain' (of weight). So a powder charge of "50 grains" is 50/7000ths of a pound, not 50 units (bits, pieces) of gunpowder. I would prefer the term 'granule' used for the tiny bits of powder. But I wasn't born early enough and no one listens to me.

You can definitely tell this was made fairly early in the war. Some troops were still wearing tin hats and the plane had the old insignia.

So optimistic. Honestly when you compare it to almost all AR10 rifles it’s still better. I’d rather have a rifle that works and gets consistent hits on target, than have a rifle that shoots smaller groups whenever it’s not jammed up or broken.

I’ll take that over an m16 anyway

In the modern eye, it sounds like propaganda, but picturing yourself as a new recruit, you can really tell how this video during briefing wants you to be motivated.

Fuck dupont, they had a mecca of firearms development and manufacturing and they decided to sell it to a cheap, greedy investment group. Imagine where remington could have been today. Also, I believe the model 1100 is the best "mass produced" semi-auto shotgun EVER made.

I’m the eldest son of my beloved father who served there the entire year of 52. Cut com lines one night he went to repair numerous times, at the top of the stairs heading out his pard said that the coffee was done. He turned to get a cup of coffee, first step down he was assisted the rest of the way by a Chinese mortar round that left shrapnel in both calfs. Died with them and by his choice without a Purple Heart. Not reported army never told. Not even a scratch he said, that’s not wounded. Where have this country’s men gone. It’s not that they don’t it’s we don’t make them like they used to. Too damm busy trying to play in women’s sports. That’s why others don’t respect the USA glad he can’t see what they fought for turning into this. Shame on the people that have done this to our country

It's a pity the A-6F didn't go into production as it would no doubt still be in service today and instead the USN was stupid enough to choose the A-12 Avenger II instead which ended up being cancelled before the first prototype was built.
