I was given a Nylon 66 earlier this year. I've done some limited research, and I think this one is from the very first batch manufactured. My Uncle Larry told me he bought it in spring of 1959, most likely at a sears near Manhattan beach (west Los Angeles). While I was cleaning it prior to it's first use in 60 years +/-, I found a number stamped in bright orange paint (4399) under the receiver cover on the outside of the receiver. Based on the manufacturing data I found I think it's from a batch made in late 1958, of just over 4400.

Will the entire point of this video is them literally saying yeah German weapons are good but we're sending you with stuff that's better the entire point of them in the mg42 did come around to bite Germany in the ass because they chewed through ammo way too quickly

7:38 that is a strange logic. the german machine gun fire 3 times faster. the american unit has the same amount of guns. so 3 times more chances to hit for the germans.
@justalonesoul58257 күн бұрын
It's your logic that sounds weird. It just means they'll be out of ammo much faster while having worse accuracy. Faster firerate absolutely doesnt mean more chance to hit, specially when tons of it is suppression fire to prevent the enemy from advancing while you dont actually see them.
@sinadadkhu9450Ай бұрын
Why the mg42 gun operator is sitting behind the thing Shouldn’t he aim down sight like the standard procedure and aiming technique? And the longer you hold the trigger , the more recoil you get This is totally a misleading video for soldiers back then 😄 Us guns are the best can’t argue with that But disapproving others to get more credit is not noble 🤨

The purpose of such a film is obvously to try and give moral to the troops by making them believe they are superior in every way.

I am a former A-6 driver and I watch this video and can't understand for the life of me why they shelled the aircraft. They boltered, big deal, shit happens. That is why you go to full power as soon as your mains touch the deck. When they ran out of steel they had a positive rate of climb. As soon as I was clear of the angle I also reached down and brought the gear up if it felt iffy. This action may have resulted in a FNAEB

Granules and grains. The indivual bits of powder are called 'grains'. This leads to confusion as gunpowder (in the U. S.) are measured in 'grains', that being 7/7000th of a pound. However, each unit - bit - piece - of powder does NOT weigh one 'grain' (of weight). So a powder charge of "50 grains" is 50/7000ths of a pound, not 50 units (bits, pieces) of gunpowder. I would prefer the term 'granule' used for the tiny bits of powder. But I wasn't born early enough and no one listens to me.

So optimistic. Honestly when you compare it to almost all AR10 rifles it’s still better. I’d rather have a rifle that works and gets consistent hits on target, than have a rifle that shoots smaller groups whenever it’s not jammed up or broken.

Fuck dupont, they had a mecca of firearms development and manufacturing and they decided to sell it to a cheap, greedy investment group. Imagine where remington could have been today. Also, I believe the model 1100 is the best "mass produced" semi-auto shotgun EVER made.

I’m the eldest son of my beloved father who served there the entire year of 52. Cut com lines one night he went to repair numerous times, at the top of the stairs heading out his pard said that the coffee was done. He turned to get a cup of coffee, first step down he was assisted the rest of the way by a Chinese mortar round that left shrapnel in both calfs. Died with them and by his choice without a Purple Heart. Not reported army never told. Not even a scratch he said, that’s not wounded. Where have this country’s men gone. It’s not that they don’t it’s we don’t make them like they used to. Too damm busy trying to play in women’s sports. That’s why others don’t respect the USA glad he can’t see what they fought for turning into this. Shame on the people that have done this to our country
