It takes them like a year to fix real shattered. (starts with AN/M3s) When they first change ATGM/SAM, the missile starts wobbling sometimes. They take half a year or so to realize that and fix it only to create a new bug that absolutely ruin AAMs. How long will it take to fix the missiles this time?

@@seekerpro486 Not really. Its a bug you can see the replay and find the server one's missile is not going anywhere near as the missile traveling in your local gameplay. Just a bug.

11.3 match maker is quite harsh at this moment with so many uptiers; the performance gap is just so great with both improved weaponry and improved airframes, hope decompression comes soon

10.7 is just so perfect though, such a fun tier to play, currently grinding Israel in my Kfir Canard and having a blast.

the f-4j is a huge step down in flight performance, the only 11.3's that are actually great are the mig23s while the other 11.3s are either stuck, barely better than their prior aircraft or worse.

A little correction: The Mk12 gunpod was in service, however was ahkstually not an "experimental" thing aboard naval phantoms as mentioned in the intro. While the Navy did opt against the usage of gunpods on its Phantoms, it *was* used extensively by Marine Corps Phantoms and even then, primarily for CAS loadouts.

Oh man! Navy LARP is the best. All the way from Buffalo to Tomcat. (The F/A-18 can't come soon enough) It's a pity there aren't more naval maps with carriers on them. Anyways, congrats with 10k!

Happy 10k! I personally love this plane-i do usually run gunpod and 5 aim 7f with 2 aim 9g as personal preference but yeah! Oh btw i saw you filming this plane in game :D Also, the plane has a stupid problem...the flares fire up! making it hard to do anything to make the missile follow the flares

I mean I'm not against missiles sometimes failing to reach/kill their targets, but the probability of that happening is currently waaaay to high. Of course given a solid radar lock etc. Completely agree that they need to decrease that, but a solid lock should still not be a 100% guaranteed kill, but maybe like 90-95% :)

I've been finding the bug with my Lightning's Red Tops, as well, always just put it down to firiing from too far out, or the missile having to maneuver too much and not reaching the target. On second thought, the British missiles have pretty big proxy fuses tho.

The F4S Is very similiar to the F4J with it's missiles, however the F4S gets the agile eagle, yet that's still not enough to make it suffern't at 12.0

Yeah all automatic and radar missiles are messed up it seems. Both ground IR based missiles like stingers and air to air missiles are all not tracking properly as well as having their proxy not work.

As someone who doesn't bring the gunpod on the f4j, fg1, and fgr2, it can still hold itself in matches, but with f14,16, and mig29 it can get tough sometimes

11.3 with no gunpod in an f4 without slats sounds like a great way to have a bad time, but can't deny it's satisfying when those 7Fs connect. Biggest problem since they fixed RWRs is that there's no J band warning, meaning with the flogger spam in sim, it's gonna be rough. I stuck with using the F5E to grind rank 7 and most of 8 personally

As someone who used and spaded the FGR.2, don't take less then maximum fuel unless you have zero confidence in your chances of survival. The F-4 isn't the most hungry beast, but I have found myself dangerously low on fuel multiple times, even ran out once, even when I do take maximum. On EC maps, I do replace the gun with a fuel tank because by the time the fighting starts, I've already eaten a few minutes of my fuel and can't engage for long.

That’s a bug? I thought I was just getting screwed because literally every Sparrow this last week has just flown by the target. Every single one. Russian missiles still hit me though. F-16 missiles still hit me too. I think it’s just with the F-4 series.

I'd imagine the lack of a gun is much more effective in reality owing to the lower overall SA, planes not being able to pull as much as they can in War Thunder, etc. But in War Thunder, well, I want that gunpod lol

honestly i had a decent experience with the f4j at first, but recently i just cant seem to get more than a kill per game without being slammed out of the sky by about 10 mig-29smt's and an f16c

I have not touched the F-4S since this update, it was one of my favorite planes to fly (even more than the F-4E) but the R-73 still scares me.

I also think the R-60M is kinda bug right now, sometimee when I launch it it starts doing some sort of barrel roll and it misses the target completely. However for some reason the normal R-60 does not do that

I have been playing the F-4J NON-STOP for around a month now and I can most clearly say. Its the worst BR experience I have ever had in my 10 years of playing warthunder #1. You only get uptiers #2. Everything else has better flight performance even at its BR #3. The rader is unreliable less you spam ACM PD HDN #4. AIM-7F / DF accuracy bug #5. R-27ER / ET - AIM-7M exist & R-73 / AIM-9M #6. You most often fight F-16C / MiG-29 SMT / F-14B Honestly has made me want to bang my head against a wall with how unfair the matchmaker is for the F-4J PHANTOM II. Month and a half in with premium and I still am 360k away from the F-16A

If you think the matchmaker is rough for the F4J in air rb then wait til you see it in sim battles… your RWR can’t pick up the Mig23, Mig29, or any radar using PD modes in sim mode. You’re 100% outclassed in every possible br bracket. It’s the perfect example of realism killing gameplay for realism’s sake.

Missile bug is exceptionally awful feeling in sim, you fire a missile and when nothing happens after a little bit you can't even press U to see if the missile is still around or not.

Dude I tried playing 11.3 and the matchmaker is so miserable, the power creep and br compression is so bad, 11.3 vehicles feel like they stand absolutely no chance against 12.3s which just is not a fun experience by any stretch of the imagination. It was so bad I just gave up after a couple games lol. Also huge congrats on 10k!!!

I've never played the f4j but I've played the F4e, and it was kind of painful tbh. That was back when 12.0 was the max br, so I guess it might be a little better, I haven't tried it out yet though. Being the F4j is at 11.3 that means it faces top tier ofc where everything is better then you so it takes some skill to play it. Also, congrats on 10k.

Well done Mr General on the 10k! Sad thing is that you have to "larp" something in a game that *was* dedicated to bringing up realism in it's battles (you probably remember those times when ground RB were very similar to what we see in tank battles in Squad for example). But after all I still believe in Gaijin, I don't know many developers who keep in touch with their player base as close as them.

Recently unlocked the F4J and yeah facing aim9ms in a stock phantom is pretty damn rough ngl, also the aim9Gs are straight up worthless, better off just bombing until you unlock the 7F-E2s, only then the real fun begins After years of war thunder i finally had some almost ace combat moments in war thunder with it, downing planes that are a complete upgrade to yours like the F-16s and MiG-29s is a huge thrill, now i wonder if the F-14 is going to be worth it or not since it seems functionality very similar but at a higher BR

Oh my god, i agree, the missles are broken so badly, my AIM9LS started to be able to dodged, they dont detonate or they somehow dont destroy the target the target. Some mig-19 dodged my aim9l without flares or rockets, there was 0 sun it was a rear aspect and we were both flying at mach 0.8, it was a 1.2mile rear aspect shot and he started evasive manuevers and it went right past. Then My AIM7F just sometimes doesnt track at all, i shot a perfect head on shot from 7 miles and my missle tracked my teammate flying away while i was locking the enemy.

Considering the missile bug i noticed it too and i have had it happen with other missiles as well such as the R27R *not the ER* and the Aim-7-E2 and of course as you showed in the vid the Aim-7F as well and its absolutely infuriating, hope they fix it sooner rather then later.

I've made the mistake of making my first big "top tier" jet being the f4j. Coming straight from 10.0 games and getting into top tier it feels completely different and the f4j is a huge underdog to say the least. Facing f16s every time I want to play it.

From my experience, the F-4J actually tends to do better than the F-4S for me, because neither of them can really dogfight that well, while the F-4J just doesn't lose as much speed

Yeah, I am also experiencing this missle bug, I was in the f8e and my aim9ds were missing shots that they should have hit, at first i thought it was just the missle missing cuz it pulls 18gs but it still confused me how stuff like harriers and kfirs were kinetically dodging them. I guess i know why now.

I like to play the japanese f4ej 11.0, it's the only plane that i have ace crew unlocked, but i dont carry radar missiles since it never works for me haha, and most of my kills are with the gun!

I have recently researched MiG-23 MLD and it's a pain to watch my missiles go through the enemy jet, they say hi to the pilot and then fly away without the explosion.

If you think the aim7s not proxying is bad, try the atas, they dont proxy no matter how many matches you play, how many you shoot, they require a direct hit to blow up. Makes me run glynx with 2x gun instead of 1x gun 1x atas, hope it gets fixed soon

I never use a gunpod on f4j. Sure, i miss kills sometimes but phantom isn't a dogfighter anyway and your main tactics is to fly fast and shoot missiles. Gunpod hurts its speed and acceleration a lot, thus, you often get sucked into dogfights you can't win, so i get much better results without it

IRL the AIM-7E never hit more than 13% of the time and the last version of the AIM-7 had a hit rate of about 30%.

This is a dumb proximity fuse bug where the proximity fuse does not activate when close to the locked target
