That's what i hated about the CW CGI series, they made him bumbling when Grievous was possibly the greatest tactical and strategic mind of that era. He turned the war from a tie into a running rout for the Republic, he was so good at what he did, Sidious and Dooku regularly had to sabotage his actions with counter orders. Add to that his over 100 PERSONAL Jedi kills and you have an individual that was the SW equivalent of Attila the Hun or Ghengis Khan
@Bouldergaming1237 жыл бұрын
I agree with you, they made this Grievous horrible when compared to the comic one, this Grievous couldn't win a battle with a Jedi and when he did it didn't last long at all for somehow another Jedi would come rescue the one he captured. He just couldn't win. I'm a huge fan of Grievous but this one I don't like as much, sure his voice is kind of cool and all but he can only seem to beat clones and that's about it.
@hewhoplugwalks6 жыл бұрын
The only reason Grievous 'failed' at any point was because of intervention to prolong the war from Sidious. Imagine if Sidious never did.

The EU was garbage, fom begining to end (that's not to say Disney canon isn't garbage), including it's laughably overpowered Grievous, that was inspired by Tartakovsky's ridiculous cartoon. I mean seriously how the fuck can anyone take seriously a slightly more advanced-than-usual battle droid (I know he's technically a cyborg, but that's utterly irrelevant) killing any Jedi, when the same sources elevated the Jedi to the level Marvel and DC's cosmic-tier superheroes?

The Art of War is a book by Sun Tzu and is basically a compilation of the concepts related to "What it means to win wars" and "How to properly win wars". This song only mentioned a few of its precepts.
@NiDe5004 жыл бұрын
Grievous is shown to be a touch cowardly at times... but that's just being a good soldier and commander. He refuses to fight unless he's sure he can achieve his objectives, and he never fights fair, two mantras that would serve a modern commander quite well. Two Jedi? Unveil extra arms with lightsabers, or gutshot them with a blaster in a saber lock. Clones are smarter than your own troops? Use Commando droids to impersonate them and use their loyalty against each other to get past security. Your location keeps getting betrayed by Sidious or Dooku sabotaging? Slaughter any Jedi that find you with your ridiculously lethal unique style and run away to yet another hideout before they can muster additional efforts. Republic Navy is quite competent and numerous? Deploy an ion cannon on a dreadnought, ambushing small contingents of Republic ships in Mongol-esque hit and run tactics and taking zero losses while also creating a crisis for their clone troops and Jedi commanders that spreads them thin. Grievous is actually quite clever and effective. If Sidious had ordered Grievous to slaughter the entire galaxy as efficiently as possible and given him full command of the CIS to do it with no rules or limitations, I suspect the Jedi and their troops would have been hard pressed to stop him. As it was, fighting with a handicap essentially, Grievous managed to push the Republic to breaking point, enough the Jedi considered him as high a priority as Dooku despite Dooku being a known Sith and a highly popular CIS leader.

Palpatine, he was smart, he knew that Grievous was a threat to his plans, that's why he never gave him the means to survive, he expected them to focus on him, kill a couple of Jedi and then die depressingly in a minor battle. I never expected him to be so capable, smart and dangerous, which is why, in part, I was scared of him, and he was also the inspiration for Darth Vader.

In the art of war he tomd a story of how he turned women into perfect soldiers. By killing the first captains when they disobeyed. Compare that to grievous slaughtering battle droids. Secondly his ship would shut down enemy ships so they coudlnt fight back. That's not a fight, so he wins but never fights. He tactically retreated whenever he did not have the upper hand, also something in the art of war. In the art of war it says to make the enemy believe you are far when you are near, grievous did this very well.
