This is an excellent tool for architecture. For those who don't understand the value. This tool, and tools like it, are made to provide a more detailed drawing which helps complete a project drawing with less effort and in a timely manor, but in no way shape or form should be considered a truss engineering tool! A truss manufacturer will consider the design element for exposed trusses in an effort to conform to an architectural design, but obviously the structural calculation would have to meet the engineering standard.

Thank you agacad for this program I'm loving it this webinar was a great help! Just one thing you should let people know to set detail to medium on revit not "coarse" or "fine".

Also am structural engineer here, and I echo ISAIAS SANTOS' comment. I get that Revit has all these fancy tools to generate roof trusses, but in reality you (as an architect or designer) can't just draw whatever truss shape you want and assume it will work, because truss is a critical structural component for holding up the roof loads, and its shapes especially where and what size the internal web pieces must be designed by an engineer to make sure it will hold up the loads as required by your local building code. You may be able to create some fancy pretty roof trusses with Revit on paper, but in reality the engineer will likely just ditch your design and start over from their structural analysis software. And as a matter of fact, most engineers would just leave out the entire roof truss design to the truss supplier to take care of, because ultimately they're the one that actually fabricate the trusses. And in that specific industry, almost every one I know at least in the west coast they use MiTek Sapphire to design the trusses. Why? Because MiTek supplies the machinery for making trusses, and design data from their Sapphire software can feed directly to their CNC machinery for milling. Revit is, and will always, remain a general architectural design software. If one is looking for structural roof truss design, look somewhere else.

I am civil engineer and designer, professional Revit ACP. Here in Brazil we do not use practical tools for modeling roofs, metal structures, preforms and other disciplines, first I would like to know if I can do the structural calculations after the model is generated. My needs is not only to generate the model but to calculate, size, details, generate the planks and tables. Thank you for your Attention!
