J. Thx so much! So far the Generate Made Easy course is fantastic. The fact that you will soon be teaching us “Generate” Flex has me so excited I can hardly stand it.

Agreed, this might actually get me to use GB because the pain of it's absence was too great before

It seems to be a fantastic update. After this the pro version would need some love. My wish list: 1. Scroll animations 2. Use the accordions for creating a TOC 3. Pop up builder

I just recently did a video on super light weight scroll animations, make sure you check that out

@@Permaslug Yes, I know. Great vid but would be great to have it built in. What I recognised was that if I combine the scroll effect via codebox with the transitions effect was cancelled out from GB Pro effects. A build-in solution would be easier to apply and have fewer conflicts...

No way they build in scroll animations. No way.

@@kylevandeusen I have heard that Tom was playing with it a year ago from one of his support team. Why not at some point?

Check out Kadence Blocks 3.0, which brings Grid CSS to the Row Layout. Among other improvements that probably leave Generate behind.

Awesome ,thanks! Are you editing out all gaps between sentences; video is faster than my brain can process :)

I am trying a new editing style, yep. This isn't meant to be a super in-depth look. For that type of video I'll slow it down, especially inside my course

This might be kind of a beginner question - but what if I want to use flex to create a row of three equal sized cards with a gap between each? If I set each card container width to 33%, then add a gap of say 24px between them, that adds up to more than 100% width. How do I get this to work properly?
@Permaslug
@Permaslug Жыл бұрын
The easiest way would be to use a width for each card that totals a little less than 100%. Each card could be 32% to account for that extra space. Hopefully we will get calc spacing values which will then allow us to do things like (33%-24px) to account for what you're talking about

Amazing! This was one aspect of Oxygen that I just LOVED that, when I started with GP & GB, really confused me. In Oxygen, with all of its wonderful Flex controls, I just nested a few DIVs and set up the "flow" and it all just worked. GP & GB required using the Grid block and applyi9ng a bit of trickery to get the same results. This will HUGELY amp up GB's function!!!! Could this ultimately lead to the deprecation of the Grid block?

Same! Flex is fantastic. I don't think it'll be deprecated anytime soon for the sake of backwards compatibility, but it likely won't be a huge focus area for me. It's kind of like columns in Oxygen. It was essentially the same thing as divs, but I barely touched it

Unfortunately, without deep dynamic data support (like repeater, custom queries, etc), it isn't going to be strong enough to replace a theme builder for me :(

Here's a tough question. It seems a no-brainer to use the new controls when creating layouts to avoid putting multiple grids inside containers. Have you seen a simple way of converting existing layouts to benefit from this? It sounds pretty daunting and time-consuming to redo entire structures of global styles and applying them to existing content on static pages.

@@kwadupfpv2971 I think the idea here is to allow the Column Gap and Row Gap controllers to be "locked" so that entering info into one input would control the other. The CSS equivalent of just using for example, *gap: 10px;* instead of using both, *row-gap: 10px;* and *column-gap: 10px;*
