I am pleasantly surprised that the MMA "this stuff doesn't work in the streets" guys haven't commented yet. This is a nice thing. Because this is good stuff.

Haha, yeah. That's gotten sooo old. I'm definitely a fan of testing and probing to ensure a technique is being used properly, but "bad techniques" are usually just normal techniques that are being applied incorrectly or misunderstood. I think this video does a great job of illustrating a big difference in power generation between eastern martial arts and western styles such as boxing. The biggest difference (in my opinion) being that styles like Wing Chun, Bajiquan, etc. generate power and force from the heel of the foot while sinking into a stance, whereas boxers tend to generate the power from the ball of the foot and raise the stance (often lifting the heel of the foot on the same side of the punching arm off the ground). I think it's the differences like these that make martial arts so interesting.

If you want to see a good example of the type of boxer Adam was talking about, Roberto Duran loved throwing tight in uppercuts with that type of force.

It's the use of the TRIANGLE that allows you to produce the power needed to break his structure! The triangle (Which is the strongest structure on Earth. The pyramids prove that out!) allows the use of concentrated energy (much as a laser beam, which concentrates power from three to one concentrated, DESTRUCTIVE, energy beam!) to concentrate power at the point of impact.
