Zyzz was definitely not some god, he was a young man in his early 20s who was probably feeling pretty lost in life and made bad choices. He had good intentions, his trolling was all a persona, and I’m personally a Zyzz fan because of who he truly was behind the facade and how relatable his struggles were to me. His bad choices are definitely not something that should be emulated, and he made a lot of them, and honestly most of the young teenagers who are obsessed with him are taking the wrong lessons from him which is really disappointing to see, and they’re believing that his persona was actually who he was and that you should emulate it. His brother talked about how much of a good person he was behind the facade and how if he were alive longer, he would realize how stupid his choices were and that he would change his public image into something more informative, honest, and uplifting. Even Zyzz mentioned near the end of his life on Facebook that he wanted to rebrand himself and quit the whole Zyzz persona, and it’s really unfortunate that he never got the chance to fix his mistakes and spread more positivity throughout the fitness world. Keep putting out content like this man, this was a wonderful video, and as a Zyzz fan you’ve explained the unfortunate impact that his persona had perfectly.

The Zyzz worship I will never, ever understand. He never followed anything he preached and then he died while doing some sex tourism. -was a skinny dweeb and took a shortcut that killed him and tries to spin that as "inspiration" -told people "we're all gonna make it" while bullying dyels (people who didn't take steroids) with his "aesthetic's crew." Refer to that video where he makes some kid take his shirt off and tries to steal his shirt (???) -was an "anti-simp" while his entire measure self-worth was pulling festival thots -was really small and weak for a PED user. He could even pull 4pl8 despite preaching that the deadlift is what sets him apart from casuals. Might as well start calling pick up artists as influential, oh wait they already do.

Zyzz always seemed to me like many young guys in their early 20's: insecure, directionless, and searching for meaning in his life. His over-the-top persona, steroid use and ostensibly extravagant lifestyle (though attractive to many) were clear signs to me of a guy who still had a lot of work to do on himself. It's just a shame that he never got around to truly transforming himself into a role model that all the up-and-comers need and deserve.

The few things that stood out about him were the traps, upper pecs, core, and his leanness. It was hard to imagine how ppl looked up to a guy who didn't seem to know how to train and was sauced to the gills despite not looking the part. No hate on the guy, he clearly had issues he needed to resolve and I'd rather not judge him harshly. I just feel he could've made it, that is: naturally, with maybe 80% of the aspects to his physique had he been patient and willing to settle for a little less. He never told anyone to hurt themselves, people like you say everyone has a choice, but then somehow Zyzz is the reason people are taking PEDs even though he's dead. You ask most people why they got into lifting, they say Arnold but apparently that's okay. You can have Arnold as your role model if you're from a previous generation but the new generation is poisoned. You also have celebrities, Pro Strongmen, Pro Bodybuilders, Pro Powerlifters and Pro any athlete but then have the hypocrisy to say that Zyzz is inspiring people to take PEDs when all these athletes in mainstream media, sports and movies all take PEDs. I'm pretty sure he didn't tell anyone to take PEDs, people just use him as an excuse to do it. There are plenty of role models that people have in terms of fitness who use PEDs, Zyzz just got embodied as the gym bro who gave confidence to a generation of kids with no real guidance from anyone in the first place. Now am I saying he has a good lifestyle? No. Should he be a role model? No. But the fact that he is shows a problem in the World that we live in and it isn't just limited to Zoomers, it has always happened and it's becoming a massive problem now because of social media. If social media existed 30 years ago, you'd bet Arnold would be potrayed the same way. Although the appeal of a guy dying young and not reaching his full potential elevates the characters in the human mind. This is seen throughout history with soldiers, gladiators, fighters and people who meddle in danger in the first place. The mystery of not knowing what the guy could have done but also taking risks that other people won't just appeals to the human mind. Also let's not pretend that this destructive lifestyle role model is unique to fitness. You have people idolising rappers who were either gangsters, broke laws killed people, took drugs or died young. Few examples: Biggie, 2Pac, and Eminem who is still alive was a druggie with massive problems. Or you look at some sports. One of the greatest legends to ever live in sports Mike Tyson, had a destructive lifestyle too, drugs, hookers you name it. But people don't care, in fact they find inspiration in people having these problems and still being able to deal with it. There are plenty more examples all throughout the human generation in any field. Actually these people are way more famous than Zyzz and still alive today. But people ignore that and act like Zyzz is forcing people to do things from his grave. People don't have to be perfect for someone to look up to them as an idol. In fact their imperfection makes them more relatable to the normal person.

The point toward the end about how Zyzz's persona being all about promescuity goes to show how malleable and mythified the whole thing really is. All of the Zyzz shorts/tiktoks being made now are like "disregard women, aquire aesthetics", which is an improvement I suppose even if it's likely equally motivated by a sense of insecurity. But, it has nothing to do with Zyzz, since he had a totally different mentality.
@mastertrey4683

Problem with a lot of these “disregard women acquire aesthetics” guys is they don’t actually disregard women and think of aesthetics as a way to attract the opposite sex. While it pretty much is, theyre missing the point. If aesthetics is your passion thats another thing. But most people dont genuinely like the process. They don’t like eating chicken and rice meal prep or working out. They do it because that is their method of becoming attractive to women or MEN if you are gay or a woman. But it’s also just to be perceived by others better, to raise your social status. To me this is stupid but to most people who are looking for a nice little comfortable ignorant life I can understand. Become loved by other people because of how you look and base your happiness on that and as long as you are aesthetic you will be happy.

What is most dangerous about these Zyzz clones is that their lifestyle is totally different from what they preach on social media. Joe always talked about positivity and being yourself yet he took boatload of steroids and his confidence was only due to taking them as he admitted on an IG story with Noel Deyzel that he said he doesnt feel as good when he's off steroids. Teens will look at their actions and what they actually do and try to copy it including taking steroids at an early age, but they can't be criticized because "oh look he's so nice and spreading positivity braza!".

You know, the last part about our relationship with women hit me hard. I'm an attractive dude saving myself for marriage, but when I see other attractive men have s3x with lots of women, there's a tempting thought that I'm missing out. The thought speaks to me saying, "You get attention from attractive women but you're over here saving yourself for a woman who probably will look very mediocre?! What's the matter with you. Go out there and get some baddies before you grow old and regret it for the rest of your life!" But then I see a video like this and realize that these Hollywood men, these Instagram men with hundreds of thousands of female followers are not good role models for me. I remember why I'm saving myself and that's because I respect women deeply, but more so, I respect myself and my future wife who whether or not looks mediocre, will have a 10/10 personality and 10/10 values . Not saying that just because you're not saving yourself that you don't respect neither yourself nor women, but that having meaningful s3x is more masculine and a lot deeper than casual, non-meaningful s3x.

You'd have a point IF there were a dichotomy between meaningful married sex vs. meaningless non-married sex, but that's a distinction you've made entirely in your own brain in order to justify your decisions. So for YOU, pre-marital sex is not as "deep" or "masculine". But to a huge number of people in the world, sex outside of marriage can be every bit as meaningful if we so choose, because we alone create our own attitude towards our sexual/romantic partners and the intimacy we have with them. Not being married, and having more than one sexual partner, does not by default mean that we treat our partners as disposable receptacles or worthless casual encounters. CAN you do that? Certainly. But you can also have respectful, emotional, intimate, lasting, and trusting intimate relationships with people you're not married to. More than once in a lifetime, even! Respect, meaning, and intimacy are not finite resources.

What if they put in work in the gym and they never get close to him and get discouraged? He was, after all, the guy who took lots of gear to look like a fitness model. Counteracting the potential pessimism I just put out, someone like NH is quite inspiring. He's a natural who used to be very frail - a former gamer too - and he, in my opinion, "made it," as Zyzz said. There is none of that "other side" I have to think about with NH and other naturals. That is what I think makes a "true" inspiration.

@@MrTVx99 I both see your point and am also confused. But I'll try to explain myself. My intention is not to be antagonistic. I see one of your points was that I'm somewhat of hypocrite for not calling out other PED users like Arnold and only focusing on Zyzz. I'll state first that I have the same opinion of Arnold and other guys as I do of Zyzz. I was simply stating my opinion *specifically* on Zyzz and how he wasn't a good *enough* role model. I don't doubt that he was an inspiration for many people. But we already have an abundance of idols like Zyzz who promote instant gratification and gains w/o being able to show them how to get there. (Jeff Seid's a blatantly bad reincarnation of Zyzz). Same with Arnold, he had garbage programs and sold out w his "Blueprint to Bodybuilding." Pump training gets naturals nowhere. Zyzz didn't know how to train properly. Wasn't he a personal trainer? Ppl aspire to get to Zyzz's level, but they have no guidance on how. How can they believe they'll "make it" when their idol sauced hard and wasn't even very big? To add insult to injury, ppl even say Zyzz had "good genetics." They just might want to sauce it up too when they aren't where they want to be. Ofc, with all that being said, this isn't always the case. The ppl who don't sauce it up but still have Zyzz as an inspiration I've noticed, relied on other inspirations. Guys who could actually teach them about training, guys like AlphaDestiny or Geoffrey Verity Schofield. If ppl only had guys like Zyzz as role models, they'd be fucked. Most of social media is plagued by the "offspring" of Zyzz. It is no wonder many of their followers are small. Guys like NH, AD, and GVS prob have the largest followings of naturals who actually "made it." And I thought it was interesting you brought up Mike Tyson, bc I believe he's prob the best role model out of all the celebs you listed. I'm sure Mike did A LOT of bad things in his life, but look at him now. He's changed a lot and cares about his family and battled many of his imperfections. He never succumbed to them. That's a success story. I don't really vilify Zyzz, I just feel bad for him. He should've served as a lesson not to sacrifice your health for instant gratification. He was most likely a deeply insecure person(like many lifters were) who thought steroids would save him. But sadly, they killed him in the end. You said, "Zyzz just got embodied as the gym bro who gave confidence to a generation of kids with no real guidance from anyone." Kids with no good role models in their life are extremely vulnerable to these idols who promote instant gratification. We need more guys like NH, we already have enough Zyzz'es. I hope you can see that and aren't blinded from that just bc you may have a soft spot for the guy.

I'm neutral on Zyzz, but let me explain. It's not really good to have a real person be your hero. If it's a fictional character, all of the ideas that come from the hero are fictional, so there's no harm. Idolizing a real person, no matter what, gives you false ideas of a person that actually exists, so they seem more real to you.

I love Zyzz for the motivation he gave me back in the days (he was funny) and his genetics (muscles insertions) are for me still the best to this day. But that's pretty much it. He wasn't a good role model (bad lifestyle and steroids and others drugs abuse, smoking...), he wasn't healthy and died very young pretty much because of this. But we can admit that, at least, he was real and honest, unless most of these fake natties nowadays (and i don't say this as an excuse, but rather to compare him with even worse people than him). He never had an actual impact on my life, despite the fact he made me discover hardstyle (wich i still love to listen to this day), but that's pretty much it. I never wanted to follow all his bad choices and the steps that led him to death. Edit : i gave a like to your video, because i agree with almost everything you said!

Ofc he had lagging legs and back, but he's still way more aesthetic than these mass monster or even Classic competitor (at least in my eyes). And drugs aside, his result were realistically achievable naturally, hence more motivational for the average Joe like me. And again, i was only giving my opinion on my ideal body, not on what's best or not.

My two original inspirations for lifting when I got started in this back in 2012 were Zyzz and Greg Plitt. Moreso Zyzz than it was Greg. But as I grew older and entered into my early 30s, that flipped and now of my two fitness inspirations, Greg Plitt is the most relevant to me today. It's because what he was doing, was not something that was short lived, it was sustainable. Zyzz lived the fast and short life. While Plitt was the undisputed top fitness model for over a decade. You would see guys rise in the industry and then a year later never heard from again. To see a man still be at the very top at age 37 with no sign of slowing down has been inspirational, and his mindset for creating a real legacy of meaning, and not living a life second best to your true potential spoke to me. The reason I believe Greg Plitt is no longer spoken of, while Zyzz's legacy has only grown is two-fold. 1. Society is more about quick fixes and attention spans are lower than ever(social media in part is to blame) and 2. Greg's manner of passing has sadly caused a lot of people to be turned off from him before even giving his information a chance. Anyway this wall of text is just to bring awareness if you're a new lifter looking for a role model. Many claim Greg was not natural and looking at his highly edited magazine photos may lead you to believe this. But look at videos of him and draw your own conclusion from there.

I think Zyzz's persona is overall good to fitness. 1. Zyzz's early death allows people to know the danger of PED. 2. Zyzz is often used as a motivation and support the "weak" people who tries to get "Healthier".
