Well, in the end, Yoda was with his approach right. If Anakin would've settled on accepting this vison, not trying to prevent it, Padme would've given birth to their two children and he wouldn't have fallen to the dark side force chocking her. And he wouldn't have fallen to Palpatine's Seductions about the Dark Side Force Users having the ability to cheat death. And probably, as they did, Windu and his comrades would've fought Palpatine and bested him. it is questionable, if Anakin would've followed them, confronting Windu about the whole "Killing him is not the way of the Jedi"-discussion or even if that would've happened, if Anakin would've fallen for that "I need him!"-argument, because in the real Episode 3 his mind was already clouded totally by the fear of Padme dying. Maybe, without this, Anakin could've been convinced by Windu that Palpatine at that spot there should be executed by Windu, because Palpatine controls the Senate and the Courts and is too dangerous to be left alive. Think about it, Anakin already had a knack for an authoritarian form of government as shown in Episode 2. Why shouldn't that be, if need be, a Jedi Theocracy, if the Senate wouldn't go through absolving them for killing Palpatine or if they don't abandon slavery and so on? Indeed it would be an interesting "Alt History" path for Star Wars, by seeing the republic dying in favor of an Jedi Theocracy, with a civil war starting, because some believed, the Jedi shouldn't do such things while others did believe it, another Jedi Schism.

It still is kind of odd that the Jedi Order would put their trust in the Clone Army when they learned that the genetic template for and primary instructor of said Army was working for the leader of separatists.
Especially it doesn't fit. For one, in the end they did try to stop Palpatine and prevent the prophecy from happening. And for two, they totally acted surprised, when the clones were turning on them. With this piece of info, way more Jedi would've survived their clash with the clones just like Yoda, escape them and they would've been able to more easily overthrow the Empire later on. It just shows what happens, if you write major plot points and then later on try to implement lore between these points.

So I think that at this moment Yoda was hesitating about telling the rest of the Jedi about the threat of Order 66 but after seeing the Jedi Council's reaction to his information about Qui-Gonn, he thought that nobody would believe him so he kept it to himself.

Overall, I think that although through Fives' private investigation and the discovery that Dooku was Tyrannus was known by the Jedi, they did not see the timing of when Palpatine would execute Order 66, since it was very much tied to when Anakin fell to the Dark Side and Mace Windu and company go to confront the recently uncovered Sith Lord. They had to face a enemy which was much, much stronger than Palps and his few followers, even if you count that he had some kind of controll over the armed forces of the Republic and CIS (but not direct total controll). And the "most balanced and most powerful" Jedi managed to lead his people in a defeat which surpass even the greatest catastrophes against such enemies like Darth Revan, Naga Sadow or any other attack by the Sith Empire. In one of the EU books an arc trooper tells general Zey, who is freaking out about order 66, that having the same individual as their leader for hundreds of years pretty much guaranteed that something like this would happen. I totally agree. You never really see the council arguing or challenging each other and their assumptions, and they always defer to Yoda's "ancient wisdom" in the end, unsurprising when you consider almost all Jedi grew up in the temple and were trained by Yoda as younglings. Yoda created his very own echo chamber, and anyone who challenged the status quo, like Qui-Gong, were not allowed in the council club. Sifo-dyas was kicked off the council for having ideas that were "too extreme", but turns out he was right, and maybe that WAS the force trying to warn them before their vision became too clouded. Secrecy, stagnation, arrogance and inflexibility of thought.

It should of been clear to the Jedi that all of this was being orchestrated by a single entity from the start. I mean, Obi-Won finds the clone army, meets the template Jango Fett, who immediately leads him to the droid army, lead by Dooku. Jango was standing right next to, and protecting Dooku. This never made anybody stop and take a sec to 🤔

Even if they had investigated it and it turned out Plagueis put up the funding, it wouldn't have led to anything. Plagueis came across to the public and Jedi as a patriot to the Republic and Palpatine could have easily spun that so it didn't put any suspicion on him.

If one of the Jedi had discovered Order 66, they would probably have said he was a "conspiracy theorist" and "debunked" him.

So Mace says "Hey Yoda. is everything on you in proportion to your size" The whole high council snickered. And Yoda thought " You can find out the hard way, ya farging bastids! (space swearing) Not the order I joined this is"

Yoda had an option he chose not to use them. See in the Old Republic the Jedi had secret task forces that did these under cover things to ensure the safety of the Republic and Jedi. But Yoda under 900 years of pure complacency prevents any such action. This just shows that TCW Jedi are not as intuned with the force or themselves as the Jedi of Old.

This video is one long list of just WHY the Jedi's judgement should be questioned. They know all this, and Yoda makes a decision based on fear ( which for Yoda is WTF? Really? Then again this guy equates Love with Greed so he wasn't playing with all marbles me thinks ), and several other decisions are made. Individually they make sense but all together it's an avalanche of stupidity. They didn't even come up with some sort of fallback plan for just in case the Sith's plans for the Clones was triggered? Despite knowing that their ability to sense the future had gone to shit? It sucks for the children but really the Jedi really set themselves up to be destroyed, the Sith probably could have left them alone and they would have done it themselves eventually.

It was presumably the will of the force that guided events, much like how it led Qui-Gon to Anakin in the first place. Much later as the pieces all fell together, things were revealed to the pertinent actors when they were needed to so that they could play their parts, whether they would like the actions they needed to take or not. Obviously Yoda didn't like it. However, showing Yoda all of this made sure he would survive the Jedi purges so he could later train Luke to get him where he needed to go so Anakin could fullfill his destiny.

It's not the first mistake, the Jedi made, when they didn't ask the Kaminoans. The first mistake is, that they followed the script.

I find it hard to believe that Yoda and all of his wisdom could not have saved the Younglings. Even though most of the Jedi like Mace Windu represent the worst the Jedi Order, the Younglings and even the Jedi Knights that were still young did not deserve to get slaughtered like that. And I'm pretty sure by the time that Luke Skywalker I going out to fight the empire he could have used some of those younglings as allies.

I'd be interested in knowing how they all of a sudden had a full blown navy. They didnt have an army but had a navy? The had fighter planes for a non existent Air force? And the Jedi Temple being created over a dark side nexus, is weak as well. If the nexus affected their connection to the force - no one asked why their powers would be stronger away from the temple? How long did it take the empire to field storm troopers? Seems the republic could have done the same, seemed like most planets were able to put together armies but the Republic has to trust an army it found by luck.

Knowing what we all do now. How do you stop order 66 with out meta gaming? Even the main characters in the Jedi order only had every piece besides Palpys identity and failed to stop it. Yoda could have at least found a way to withdraw from the war as commanders. Anakin and Rex had the clues to the chip. Obiwan mad the Tyranis connection. Even with out knowing of Palpy they had enough to go on to know they've been played. Perhaps they really have just been played so hard it was too late. Maybe Kreia was right when she said taking away the force cripples a Jedi worse than just never having it. Yoda and the council were clouded for years.

Yoda should've told everyone about the clones, despite the ensuing chaos. It's the obvious and logical choice, because the Clones would've been used by the "secret Sith" they always knew about. It would certainly be a lot easier to deal with an angry public or the republic, than the most elite force the galaxy has ever seen.

They ended up reaping what they sewed. The Jedi Order allowed themselves to become far too politicized and involved with the Republic. They built a losing hand that they had no choice but to play.
