Allan has a very particular way about himself, a very calm and collected demeanor, which goes against the hyping and spectacular tone of most KZbinrs. Take Eric Voss for example, who is another goto guy for SciFi and Star Wars, he's always "🦊-Newsing" his Videos. While Allan is always relaxed, laid-back and educational. That's an acquired taste, you have to like this style, or you will switch away, before you get to the meat of it. I do like it very much, especially because my daily business is very hectic. It's my daily fix of calm nerdism.

I think B2-EMO is hiding something. It’s established in the first episode that lying drains his battery rather quickly, and during the most recent episode he was charging all day. I may be reading into it a bit much, but it could be a pretty cool chekovs gun

That's what I think too - that it's going to turn out to be a combination of the two other most popular theories about B2-EMO. The first being B2 has very limited available memory and is always draining battery trying to keep a big secret. Once unburdened from keeping the secret, B2 will be able to function much better and basic upgrades can fix any other issues, but there will not be a significant personality change. The other that instead of being fused into another droid and staying with Cass, B2 will serve the rebellion by becoming a mentor/friend to other people and droids who need to heal and "rebuild." It will give Cass much more peace to know that B2 is safe and living Maarva's legacy, helping other people the way that Maarva and B2 helped him than to keep B2 by his side as K2SO. But I do like the idea that K2SO is the product of it's own driod sentience kicking in as detailed in the comic and a fusion with other less prominent AIs we have met in the show like the sarcastic ship. I personally hope the reason K2SO refuses to leave Cass isn't because K2SO *is* B2, but because K2SO *promised* B2 they would always take care of Cass. There could even be a kicker with the idea that the promise was part of how B2 helped K2SO learn the difference between a request and an order, doing something because you want to help someone not because you have to.

My theory is that the AI from Luthens ship (which Cassian will inherit after Luthens tragic death) will go on to become K2SO. Cassian's endearing relationship with Bee is foreshadowing and merely setting the stage for a future relationship that will develop over time from all the experiences he will share with Luthen and his ship.

When Cassian is watching Luthen and Vel discuss his late inclusion to the Heist team through the cockpit window he glances furtively around the cockpit when the Ship "notices" what he's doing and asks Cassian, "Something I can help you with?" In a wry and somewhat familiar tone. That whole scene felt odd somehow, the way it was shot and the subtle comedic timing (which has been a rarity in "Andor") between Cassian and the AI really got my attention. It literally made me go, Hmmm? All I know is that absolutely nothing is done without a reason by Tony Gilroy and I interpreted that scene as a tiny hint of things to come.

I feel like B2's reluctance to leave the charger may be cuz he's afraid of being shut down an reprogrammed. With Maarva's passing, and Cassian gone, he has no family left. May also be the reason he REALLY doesn't wanna be alone, and why he is so reluctant to leave with Brazo, trying to cling on to whatever he can to keep them alive in his memory.

New subscriber: Question for Allen. I am confused about Luthens obsession with Andor, I understand he wishes to stay concealed; However, Bix, Saw, Val, and Andor have seen him. Bix has had contact with him more than Andor on multiple Occasions and is currently under Empire imprisonment and torcher to find him. Luthen is doing nothing about it nor seems concerned she could reveal something, why? I believe it's the only flaw in the show thus far, your opinion.

I don't think it's going to happen. Their personalities feel too different, it would be really hard for me buy that they're actually the same character. Not impossible but hard. K's personality could simply have developed over time if Cassian decides not to wipe his memory after the initial wipe, which is generally how droids develop distinct personalities in the first place. Rogue 1 also implies he didn't just get a memory wipe but was flat out reprogrammed.

Yeah, I feel the same way regarding the two droids, they just feel too different from one another to make a transition from one to the other believable. Plus, the comic mentioned in the video is a solid piece of evidence that B2EMO is unlikely to be K-2SO. Sure, comic was pretty under-whelming, short, and rushed so I have a feeling if anything it'll be used as just a rough base of reference, but within that comic Cassian JUST reprograms the KX unit. It still has the desire to fulfill its' primary programming coming through after every attempt, and Cassian ends up reprogramming the thing several times, deleting more each time, before it finally stops trying to kill him. I feel that alone would explain why K-2SO is so quirky and sassy given he's got a a really hacked-together reprogram job that likely screwed up a few things leading to the droid we know and love. Sure, there could have been further tinkering between the comic and Rogue One, but even if there was I doubt B2EMO's memories, parts, modules, etc. would have anything to do with that since he'd likely just call K-2SO "B" since the only explanation for why he'd do that is to wholesale import B2EMO into the KX body after fully erasing the original unit's mind from it. I have confidence they'll make that whole story far more interesting and better-paced in the second season, assuming that's the season he'll appear in, and that the story of K-2SO becoming Cassian's companion will not involve B2EMO's personality being injected.

When I watched episode 11 I had this realization as well. K2SO hated not being by Andors side at all times in Rouge one so it is possible that it is the same AI. Guess we will find out in a few days or sometime during 2nd season.

A huge missed opportunity so far in the sequels, including all post-Endor, would be exploring the themes of droid sentience and slavery. They ham-fistedly introduce this idea in Solo but I'd rather not think about that. A big chunk of post-Empire conflict might revolve around the realization that at least some droids are legit sentient and a fight "droid rights".

I really like that you did an in-depth analysis of this. You basically summarized that it can be done, but only under very specific circumstances. As much as I would hate to see B2 killed off or wiped, its just a point in the Star Wars story where all the characters we grow to love aren't going to make it to the end. So reinstating his programing into K2SO could help form an attachment to Andor. A character who has lost so much and deserves at least one constant companion. But too much attachment might hinder Andors commitment to the mission. I just hope that if it is done, its done right. Personally I don't think it could work. Because B and K are just so radically different as characters but also as in-universe technology. B is an older maintenance and salvage droid on the fritz, K is a brand new security and combat droid. Something they have in common though is that they are both professional droids meant for a specific work field. This would mean they were both not meant to form attachments to individuals or employees. This would explain why B is having such a hard time with Maarvas death. He formed an attachment with Maarva and others when it wasnt in his programming. So its hard for him to understand that she isnt coming back. The same can be said about K. He wasnt meant to form attachments to anyone at all either. So simply reprogramming him not to kill everything in sight would be a good start to him being able to work on a team. So transplanting B into K with some additional work could work. Or just some extensive work might be all it takes. It remains to be seen.

I love the thought of B2 still following Andor around in Rogue One. I think this is very likely, I didn't even know it was a theory. B2EMO is definitely an old droid and I can see Cassian wanting to keep the old guy around by transplanting his central processor into a KX chassis. I'm guessing the KX has simpler "killbot" software and a less sophisticated cpu because, after all, the KX is a killbot. The fusion would result in the hybrid K2SO "personality". That would make K2SO's death in Rogue One even more poignant because Cassian and B2EMO/K2SO would have been together from the moment Maarva and Clem found Cassian on Kenari to Cassian's final mission on Scarif.

I would say simply not, since then why would Cassian call Bee (K2SO)? They are 2 different droids and I’ll predict this now… Bee will be compromised in the finale which will make a hole in Cassian’s soul from the loss of Bee, which will be filled once Cassian meets K2SO which will be good to see!

He seems to collect unique things so I'm thinking he might be some sort of experimental AI that will end up needing a body at some point in the series so Andor will repurpose the imperial droid. Or B might end up getting an upgrade 🤔

To be honest, I hope they do not go this route. Bee has a very different personality from K2, and I feel like if they turn Bee into K2, that takes away the K2s entire character. Besides, I really wanna see K2 develop into the droid we see in Rogue One.

B2EMO's droid brain installed into a K-2SO and using the K-2SO's vocab modulator to speak with. It would also explain why K-2SO has some clumsiness using arms and legs.

My guess is they do a reverse-Millennium Falcon and the Fondor AI becomes K2 after the Fondor is irreparably damaged.

I feel like both options are good. B2 becoming K2SO is a good idea becaus it makes K2SO's death even more sad and it makes B2 Cassians best friend in Rogue one. If not, theyll kill him for dramatic effect. Or Brasso takes him with him or something.
