I think the Armorer is earnest and realizing she’s getting old. She needs to resolve setting up a home before she passes. She knows this. If she can play advisor and act as a power behind the throne, she’ll be satisfied. She isn’t the character I would be worried about. I’m surprised the Merc faction hadn’t already betrayed the group yet.

I have thought that the horns on the Armorers helmet was an homage to Akaavi Spar, who wrote the poem that outlines the Resol'nare, the Way of the Mandalore. Akaavi was a female zabrak mandalorian with small horns.

I think there's a simpler, more disappointing explanation. When I saw the episode, I thought it was pretty odd that all of the important characters were getting on the shuttle to go to the surface. Seemed like the author's hand conveniently setting up a tragic destruction of the fledgling Mando fleet, but without killing the named characters. In this light, the Armorer serves as our viewpoint of the coming devastation. Watching as everyone she cared for dies (again!) cements the message she's been getting all season: she can't afford to be pushing away people who might help her rebuild Mandalore if she can learn to tolerate them. I just don't see her being a double agent. Thus far, they've only really used her character as an avatar for the old ways, and occasionally a brutal melee combatant. Turning her into an Imperial collaborator just doesn't taste right.

Out of a lot of the theories surrounding the Armorer, I agree with yours. She might be kind of an old-fashioned/traditional Mandalorian, but I just don't see her being an Imperial collaborator. No offense to Alan or anyone else, I just think there are a lot of mental gymnastics going on just to arrive at the conclusion that the Armorer is hiding something or just being an Imperial collaborator. I would defer to the simplest answer here as well. I think back to the days when Episode I came out in the theaters. Those of us who already saw the Original Trilogy at that point, had already known that Palpatine was a Sith and that he had started out as a politician. But sure enough, there were still people trying to scrutinize those scenes where Darth Maul was speaking to Darth Sidious. The name Sidious had not been mentioned yet, but here, Darth Maul's Sith master was a humanoid male that wore a black robe with a hood that obscured his face. The same description that matched that of Emperor Palpatine, who was Darth Vader's master, later on in the timeline for the Original Trilogy. George Lucas had to literally tell SW fans who kept belaboring these wild theories about clones of the Emperor, that (and I'm paraphrasing) Darth Maul is talking with the leader of the Dark Side/Sith and that there is no one else. It's worth it to mention that, with some notable stories scattered throughout the franchise, that Star Wars has never been seriously "deep" with it's explanation of how this galaxy's stories have come about (with exception to "Andor", in my opinion). They are fairly simple tales of good and evil. If I am wrong about everything and the Armorer is the biggest Imperial collaborator, then so be it. But for now, I will go for the simplest explanation.

How do you come to this conclusion that it's an alloy and not true beskar? Just because the Mandos took out so many of the troopers so quickly? If you look closely you will see the Mando shots are hitting the spaces in between the armor; Mandos being Mandos, they know the weak points and know where to aim. That's why when Din tanks through and throws one of the Imp soldiers to the ground, he points his gun at the guy's neck and shoots *there* 3 times. Mandos are smart enough to know not to aim for the middle of the chest, after all.

Interesting theories, and a lot of them could make sense, but there are 2 reasons that kinda counter all of them : 1/ As you mentioned, she's not only the shaman/religious leader of the whole Children of the Watch group, but she's also the one who foges all of these mandalorians their armors, which is usually custom tailored to each individual (sure, one could argue lots of these mandalorians armors are hodgepodge parts they scavenged on various imperial or droids parts, but their chestplates usually bears the Iron Heart). So I don't quite see her being able to forge with her soul and sweat for all these years pieces of armors to people that she would betray in the bat of an eye. As an artist myself, I share a deep bond with each of my creation, so I don't think she'd be able to just create soulless replacement parts for all her covert members. Bonus side point : I don't think she's devious enough to have sent her most loyal follower Paz to his death (especially if our suspicions are right about the fact that Paz must have had his kid with someone...) 2/ this is more of a practical concern : I really don't think either Favreau or Filoni have it in them to write a Gandalf-like character right from season 1... to reveal 4 years later "it was Saroumane all along" ! They're not devious enough to do that. If anything, the survivors were the traitors and they are going to be the Trojan horse... before being tenderized real quick by the armorer. Also, with her wanting to see the great forge, I predict more something like : Either Bo Katan or Din or Grogu (or Boba Fett, for hecks sake) will likely tame the Mythosaur and ride it, resurfacing from the base (destroying it on its way up), and the Armorer, after having dispatched the traitors and help win the space battle, will be there on the surface of the planet to witness it, triggering her in a mystical enlightenment moment where she'll have a divine vision of the coming new age of Mandalore. Take good care of you mate ! Your videos are always a blast to watch and it'd be a shame to see you miss the finale tomorrow because of a stomach ache.

I certainly hope so, that would rock. She strikes me as one who puts 'doctrine before culture', which I love, because an ignorant, judgemental culture is now strong in my own religion: where people should study for themselves but tend to just grow up in it and take it's existence for granted. We need more people like the Armorer who not only can quote scripture at the drop of a hat, but will also defend the faith- most often from itself, ironically; we are NOT supposed to judge, for one, but it happens a lot if you aren't 'one of us' in that culture, almost like some kind of requirement or virtue... completely counterproductive. having grown up in the church but sought my own testimony because of my personal issues: I am stronger for it, but it's hard for what I see there in that behavior of my own members to not disgust me. Somehow I gotta be an example, and even with the companionship/Gift of the Holy Ghost, frankly it's hard. If the Armorer is truly committed to defending her faith as an example of it, I wonder if 'how' is a question she asks herself at night, or how many times she reads the Words she so often seems to quote as her solution. I'd be pretty sad if she betrayed the other characters somehow. Her treatment of Bo is kinda suspicious.

That was certainly a big part of it, the battle of Navarro showed Bo was also a solid tactical/military leader, willing to fight side by side with the children of the watch and respect the way by walking the path as they do. Then there is the mythosaur sighting which heralds a new age, which the armorer dismissed at first as just a "divine sign" but upon reflection, realizes Bo really was telling the truth, as the victory at Navarro was a pretty clear sign that the times are indeed changing.

I don't think it's entirely necessary for a Mandalorian smith to divulge the secrets of beskar. Sure, it would've been easier, but Moff Gideon's remnant has been there for years. It could've been as simple as trial and error to work beskar until they eventually cracked the code. Alternatively, there could've been an Imperial loyalist who was also a smith who spilled the beans

I dismissed the idea of The Armorer being the one who supplied Gideon with the knowledge of how to forge Beskar almost immediately. I feel like there was a scene cut where Gideon reveals he was a Mando Imperial Supercommando. Especially given he's been shown to be able to go toe to toe with a Mandalorian before. And if this is the case, that Gideon is a Mando himself, it's likely he already has an idea of how to forge Beskar.

It is so hilarious how relevant it is that the star wars fandom cannot accept that the Armorer changed her mind and values. lol. She states that the past should lay behind them and that deathwatch is no more, so she might have just changed her mind. I don't understand how the armorer would sit at the table hearing Bo Katan talk about making the mistake of not fighting the empire and laying down weapons and not express some kind of guilt if she were a spy. I will say that it is probably true that she was testing whether or not Bo Katan would follow their creed and fight for the same causes, but Bo Katan has expressed loyalty by saving Paz's son and Mando. I don't believe the armorer would betray those who follow her, but I do believe that she understands and knows the dangers of imperials on Mandalore. The armorer will most likely take the massive fleet to save Mando, but may let Bo Katan die in the end. You never can guess anymore with Jon Favreau creating story lines. There is probably a deeper connected line that we aren't seeing.

Bo removed her helmet to show that she respected the armorer as leader. And by removing her helmet Bo was letting the armorer know that she will obey, even if it means getting kicked out of the cult. So by willingly leaving the group, Bo passed her test. The test had 2 outcomes. Bo gets kicked out or she is worthy to lead them.

This is my take on the Armorer and her story. After Bo-katan and Ahsoka retook Mandalore, death watch retreated to the moon of Concordia where the armorer eventually fell out with them as she blamed them (and in part herself) for the fall of mandalore she has a crisis of Faith and ends up doubling down on her Faith she also drops her name to hide her part in the events she starts her new clan and leaves for somewhere new. She doesn’t want the dark sabre if she did she could have took it from Din as she saw how bad he was at using it in the book of boba. She my be the only children of the watch member who can smith, but smithing is a common task for Mandalorians. Sabine Ren said of her armorer in rebels that it was hundreds of years old but she had shaped it to fit her, and the way she said it made it sound like it was common practice for armour to be past down in that fashion. You bring up a lot of really good points here, and many of them were things I had missed or not considered when watching myself, so thanks for that. The one thing that doesn't add up to me is, since the Smith is such a zealot, why would she ever work with Imperials for any reason? The Empire is really second only to the Jedi as an ancestral moral enemy. It's only begun recently but the story so far has all the hallmarks of the origin story to a thousand year blood feud. I can't see a fanatic every working with an enemy like that. I also think that while the Smith is probably smart and cunning enough to outmaneuver Gideon, I don't think she could be manipulating him. I don't think she's well connected enough to blackmail him or impersonate a superior, and she lacks the capability to immediately threaten him or his assets. Although I think it may be possible that Gideon is manipulating her, or is at least deliberately pressuring her in his preferred directions with his actions. Either way, I'm looking forward to finding out. Get well soon, man.

Eep, feel better, Alan! There does seem to be something nasty like that going around. (Anyway, I keep thinking that there's a lot of non-nefarious reasons behind some of the suspicious stuff about the armorer... It's certainly plausible that she was among the many not taking the Imperial Remnant seriously , and one gets the impression she wasn't getting out much, for instance.)

I'm so glad you talked about the Armorer and how Gideon actually knew how to craft Beskar. The only catch to this is that Gideon specifically says "Beskar Alloy", implying he either doesn't have a lot of Beskar (false, he is on Mandalore), or the Armorers full knowledge of crafting it. So either she is helping him, but isn't being 100% with him. Or she isn't helping him, and he's only figured out how to craft so much of it.

13:30 I know alot of people think its a test but I feel that it was just another technicality based smart move by the armorer. She saw Bo was almost getting settled in with the CoTW and wouldn't want to take her helmet off and thus lose credibility with the other mandolorian groups, so she had her take it off to force her (the most likely person for the others to rally around) to go back to her regular behavior

I like how the Armorer has a jetpack now and it looks like the same kind that Rook Kast used lol, it'd really suck if she really abandoned both Din Djarin and Paz Vizsla. I don't see her sacrificing them but this is an interesting theory. Better put together than most "the Armorer is bad" theories I've seen.

Great video! If anything, the Armorer is a nihilist. She wants a return to the pure Mandalorian society of ancient days. To accomplish this, she has to purge all the heresy and division from the ranks....even if it means destroying all the surviving Mandos and starting anew with the children. Her best tool to accomplish this is Gideon. Like a metalsmith uses fire and hammer to purify and shape the base material, she's using Gideon and Mandalore to make a Mandalorian society in her perfect image..... Get well soon.

I was writing a comment, and then got to the point in the video which was essentially my point. The Armorer playing both sides against the middle. I think she has some sort of arrangement with Moff Gideon, knows that he is on Mandalore and even have an idea as to what his goals are. I think her play was to use Bo Katan's group as sacrifice to show her 'loyalty' to Gideon but does not care which side falls as either defeat serves her purpose.

Crazy idea #2 the armorer is working with thrawn to get rid of moff Gideon’s group. While also tying up the majority of the Mandalorian fighters and fleets in rebuilding. This way he gets rid of a powerful opponent and keeps the Mandalorians out of the fight with the weak new republic

Couple of things: if she was deathwatch bo would recognize her. She also probably wouldn't have the same weird compulsions about her helmet. Let's not forget Bo was the number 2 for deathwatch for a long time. #2 It can't be an ancient mandalorian helmate. The ancient mandalorian helmets have a gorget (neck guard) essentially they're like a bassinet. Specifically a cross between a grand bassinet and the nuremberg bascinet. The Fett style helmet is like a barbute, great helm or a sugarloaf, ie no gorget. Specifically the men wear a barbute and the girls wear a Corinthian (550-00 bc). Difference between the male version and the female version is like the difference between a ancient Greek style helmate and a medieval Italian style barbute. A difference being the eye shape cuts with a nasal on the Corinthian vs a T for the barbute. On the surface they might look similar to the ancient mandalorians but if you look at the details of how the masks are actually set up it doesn't make any sense for her to be wearing an ancient mandalorian helmet they're entirely different helmet styles. Imo it would be a great disservice two Nazi evolution in the helmets over time. For the record Corinthians are really ancient but bronze they wouldn't be able to make them from besc... steel until much later. That nurenberg bassinet is from the 1400s and the barbute is a renessance helmate. Evolution.... It's also important to note that the variance between the eye shapes and the T shape is pretty common in the medieval versions of these helmets too. I wouldn't read as much into that as far as dating them as I would their construction.

Moff Gideon doesn't need "The Armorer" to teach him the secrets of Beskar. The Saxon Mandos joined the Empire somewhere between 10-5 BBY. The Saxon Mandos had a good understanding of Beskar as they were able to backwards engineer Sabin Wren's "Dutchess" machine that could render a mando into a pile of ash. As far as we know, these Saxon Mandos stayed with the Empire until the event we see in season 3 of the Mandalorian. I don't think they had a great understanding of Beskar as they weren't able to perfect the tech that Sabin had created, but nevertheless, they could still forge it into basic armor. I think this is why the Dark Troopers armor wasn't quite as good as Din Jarin's armor. It was forged by Mandos that didn't understand Beskar as good as The Armorer. Sabin Wren would likely have as good as, or a better understanding of Beskar than The Armorer.

Feel better Allen! Can’t wait for this finale. I’m still banking on the Armorer being Ursa Wren. Maybe she did have a deal going with Moff Gideon (trade beskar/ mine water for undisturbed cloning base), but since she learned that the Mythosaur is back she merged the two tribes…betraying Gideon. Also can’t be trusting those mad max mandos, idk about those guys yet.

The one thing I noticed was that the Armor' and Moff Guideon are the only 2 who are wearing helmets with horns. I'm not a very big star wars fan but I like this show and have been watching it and I picked up on that but since the Moff's armor was shiny black it was really hard to see but on my Mini LED monitor with 1000 nits of brightness you can clearly see in HDR that he has the 5 horns on his helment too. I didn't notice it the first time since I was watching a SDR stream on a 1080p laptop but once I switched to the Mini LED HDR monitor I was like, WAIT A MINUTE.......This means something..

@@SoulxReaper9522 Sometimes basic is good, because I personally don't like plot twists. They add way too much complication to something and it could really open up the possibility for more plotholes than are needed. I like it cut and dry simple because if a simple story is refined, then there can't be any logical flaws to it. There's still a few flaws with the Mando series as a whole, but I still enjoyed it for what it was. Too many people just set the bar way too high and don't know how to just sit back and relax for once.

To be fair the armorer does not have a single blaster for some odd reason nor a jet pack. She’s like the worst mando for a scouting mission or an attack. Honestly mandalorian survivors are the most sus. Gideon forces were definitely tracking the mandalorians for them to leave a bunch of survivors alive is interesting and they’re heading to the fleet Trojan horse style.
@briangoss4011

Her not caring about where Mando got the Beskar from can be explained by the fact its really expensive to buy and oh yeah Mandolore was turned to Glass via nukes so they just cant mine anymore from home. Things are so bad we saw her in season one scavenging the Armor off the dead. And her leaving can be explained by the fact she doesn't have a jetpack and there's no way the survivors didn't mention that there are giant creature so big they can take out the land ship in a single blow. So she left because of that and the fact she a melee fighter also. So out of all them she was the only one they could really afford to lose without it effecting the group combat strength.

Wild theory speculation but what if The Armorer is actually Satine Kryse? Hear me out. The Armorer's main focus has always been keeping the Mandalorians and Mandalorian society safe. Duchess Satine also sought to preserve Mandalor by bringing its people into the modern age. She recognized how the perpetual raiding and infighting was destroying Mandalor from within and worked to bring all Mandalorians under a single banner. The Armorer also seeks to unite all Mandalorians together. Satine was a pacifist, The Armorer kept the Children of the Watch hidden. They could have been out raiding or being mercenaries but for the most part they kept to themselves. They didn't get involved in outside events and only fought in self defense. The Armorer only fights with her smithing tools, she has never fired a blaster, a compromise to her pacifist values. Both Satine and The Armorer are both charismatic figures that were able to convince their people to adopt extreme beliefs. As a child Bo Katan (and by extention her sister) were raised on the legends and rituals of Mandalor, Bo just never put much stock in them. As for Armorer allowing Bo Katan to remove her helmet it could be Satine offering favoritism to her sister. The Armorer returning to the fleet could so Bo could be the solo great hero and not inadvertantly overshadow her with her presence. Yes, Maul killed Satine, but when has getting stabbed with a lightsaber ever stopped writers from bringing a dead character back to life.

The armorer has much more knowledge of Beskar smithing than Gideon's imps. They can only produce Beskar alloy, while the armorer knows the secret to producing pure Beskar armor. One such secret ingredient being the Living waters, that seems to offer an unmatched purity. The only thing Gideon could offer is Beskar, and we would see much more silver Mando's if that was the case.

After much consideration, I think I understand why The Armorer established (or adopted) the rule of not taking off the helmet, so nobody will ever know who is under there and so nobody will question her rules. She never gives anyone her name, nor does anyone know it. Since she believes in foundlings taking up the way, she is more likely to accept an outside presence of imperials taking over Mandalore (as long as the Dark Saber is won in combat) kinda like how Gar Saxon allowed for Mandalore to be ruled under the empire as long as he got to be the governor. This could very well be the continuation of what happened in Star Wars Rebels, if The Armorer was indeed part of Gar Saxon's company of Super Commandos that eventually converted into imperials.
